Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

Jon,
I pretty much run with mine fully down all the time. Pretty rare to use them to level out the boat side-to-side. Joys of a 10.5 beam..;)

I use the lower unit to trim her out at speed.
Thanks Buddy, I’m going to get them fixed, hopefully that will help my plaining issue. Takes a long time for my girl to get there which is why I’m pretty sure they are stuck all the way up.

Girly, if im full gas, full water and more then 4 people my bitch just wants to stand up the entire time. I normally just have some of my friends go inside to the bow till she lays down. Then im good. If only 2 on board its fine

Got it, now I’m not so worried, I’ll get the tabs down and try again. Thanks Buddy

Just remember, its 13,000 lbs dry. Holds 120 gallons of gas and 60 gallons of water at 7 lbs a gallon. Put on averaged weight of 200 lbs a person and if like me, about 1,000 lbs of gear. Makes your girl a fat lady and heavy.

Yep, she’s a little thick, but with the proper participation and enthusiasm she’s still fun.

Looks like I need to replace the check valve on my shower sump pump. Was looking at this but there is not a whole lot of room in the sump box.
What have you guys used?

Looks like you just need to install a new float switch. I replaced mine for the same reason. Easy peasy

Float switch and pump work well. Water is coming back into the box and then reactivating switch and pump.
Think I found a solution. Need a new valve in line. Product number is RULE-1240R

Like a moped, fun to ride just dont be seen in public on her

The heck with that! Ride her hard and show all your buddies:D:D:D They may hoot on ya, but you know they are just jealous inside!:p

Hey guys - two issues popped up today that I’m hoping to get some suggestions on…

1.) While we’re on the sump pump topic - I noticed some brownish water in mine today, so I opened it up, and lifted that float switch, and nothing happened…we haven’t used the shower or AC yet, so it’s probably water from when the marina winterized and/or summarized.

It worked fine last season, and I even cleaned it all out.

2.) The AC compressor wasn’t coming on today, and I noticed that the control panel was indicating the cabin temp to be 40 deg, so even when I dialed the thermostat down to 55 (lowest it would go), the compressor wouldn’t come on. It was about 85 deg in the cabin, so I tried to calibrate the temp on the control pad. When I went into calibration mode, and pressed the UP button, it went from 40 to 57, and wouldn’t go higher. So the compressor came on, but only for a few mins until the temp indicator went down to 55.

I don’t know if it’s a problem with the UP button, or that keypad.

I was thinking maybe I’ll do a factory reset, and see what happpens?

Maybe open up the keypad, and see if there’s anything I can unplug and re-plug.

Any suggestions?

1, check your fuse panel under helmnor in small door at stern first. Make sure you didnt blow a fuse. If its all good it might just be the float switch went bad.

2, if you open the panel.for the ac there is only 1 small plugs that ya can unplug and replug in. Make sure your cocknis open and you are discharging water. They shut down if no water is pumping

Thanks Jeff.

1. I’ll try that now. I guess I can just remove two screws for the sump pump circuit to get to the individual fuse.

2. I wiped off the thermistor, and moved it to behind the return vent, and the temp on panel went up to 97! I was able to dial it down to actual temp, and recalibrated a few times as it cooled the cabin. Seems good for now.

When I wire directly to the pump, without the float connected, it works fine. Going to head to West Marine for a new float switch. Any idea how the float is attached to the sump box? I don’t want to break anything, lol.
