Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

Here are the photos.

Hey strecker25 do you by any chance still have these photos that you had posted for the AC? I am currently installing AC and its become a pain in the ass. Also where does the condensation tube go?

Does anyone know how to remove that top part of that cover? Where the screws are laying. I am having a hell of a time trying to run wires from the cabin to the engine bay. Everything seems sealed off.

Sorry man didn’t see this. I’ll take a look later

I think it’s burried in this thread but did someone post the connector for all the plumbing? I need a 90* for the HWH connection that’s leaking

Made a somewhat disturbing discovery on the AC today. Wanted to clean the duct as best I could so I disconnected the tubing at the AC side. Apparently the duct has an outer and inner tube, the outer is lined with fiberglass insulation. Well, the inner tube had pulled back and someone electrical taped the outer tube to the AC manifold.

As a result, the AC was passing through pink insulation on its way to the main cabin. Worse yet, it was all black and dirty from the condensation gathering for who knows how long. I ripped it out and half reconnected the inner duct, I get about 70% better flow now. Makes me wonder how much glass the family has breathed in over our last 4 years

If we’re lucky it’ll help with the mustiness I sometimes get down there

A year in the making but the dinghy riding tall back there. Floats off a tiny bit coming off plane but sits back down on the Davits no problem.

No water in the toilet. When we flush there's no rinse water, when we lift the pedal there's no flow. The freshwater system is under pressure and otherwise working fine. I guess the first check will be to disconnect the push fitting(s) and see if there's water to the pedal, but maybe someone else has had this problem?

Lets hope it's this simple.

Hi all

As there is no levelindicator for the FW tank, how do you guys tackle this when on the hook for several days? Is there a way to check visually?
Understand FW tank is placed forward of the waste tank.

You will just have to experiment a time or two to figure out your water usage and then you will know what kind of conservation tactic's to use to stretch the water supply in your situation.

How many are usually aboard for extended times?

Do you boat in fresh or salt water?

Anybody have the Festoon bulb length for the front navigation lights handy? Wanting to order LED replacements while at work...:D

Thanks!!

These worked for me

They fit in the anchor/mast light but they don't work if both are installed at the same time. Maybe a switch/fixture problem? I really want to convert our anchor light to LED but don't really want to buy a whole new fixture

Thanks Ryan! I kinda figured they were the 31mm shorter ones for the front. I put these on my previous 268DA about 7 years ago and never had to screw with them again. Just need to bring my 290 up to snuff!

Your 2 position switch might be defective or you have some corrosion on the 2 little contacts that the bulb slips into. It is a very tight fit. When changing bulbs I broke one in my hand while trying to get into position.

When you are in the running mode does the light above the swim platform illuminate?

it works with the incandescent bulbs no problem and even works if I have one LED canbus in the front facing and an incandescent in the rear facing. Once I add both, they go out.

I rewired my mast to always be 360* because the dinghy covers the stern light
