Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

I hate all you guys that get to enjoy the boat all year long. I live in new jersey and my season is only from may 1 to november 1. Then the girl comes home for winterizing and shrink wrap

Sorry buddy, I too leave the full canvas up all year and am wet all year. Soon as the leaves start to change we should have some great boating pics.

Back to the app search, Garmin guy recommended checking with engine manufacturer, well duh. Mercury has what’s know as Vessel View, very slick but easy hookup requires Smatcraft be on the boat. Super Electrician is installing a Fusion radio and nema 2000 backbone for it to talk to the Garmin. Mercury is closed today, I’ll reach out Monday and see if they have a solution for our old girls. The app does pretty much everything. If anyone has it on a non smart craft boat I’ld be very interested in how you did it.

Do you guys pull your outdrives every season?

I do mine every other season (roughly every 140 hrs). I think recommendation is every 100 hrs, but I do a lot of trolling so I consider that idling hours that are not hard on the drive. Never had an issue.

I only ran about 40 hours this year so I think ill do it every other season just to grease and inspect. As it is, my transom assemblies are brand new, and the outdrives have all new top end parts

Hey Crew, I’m going to high jack this for a second. I’m heading down to the boat at around 1200, plan is to finish installing new CO sensors (Yes I will post pictures), warm everything up and do some cleaning and probably spend the night. If anyone needs pictures or measurements of anything let me know.
Jon

Your southerners really suck. Don't you know it's winter? LOL!

Just kidding.:D Someday, I may have to move down there:)

It isn’t horrible, not San Diego or Los Angeles, left in 2000 and haven’t looked back. It also isn’t Groton CT where I spent two years. I’ll take some pictures from the slip just to rub it in.

As promised.

Garmin pic is for the water temp in case you didn’t see it. ;)
Doesn’t suck.

;):cool::p

So finished one CO cabin sensor and a cheap stand alone in the cockpit. Right by the helm, amazing how quick it goes off when idling engines at the slip with the canvas all closed up, glad I put it in.

This is what was installed back in 99

Here is what I bought

The wall plate is from Lowes, the new sensor didn’t cover the hole.

Forward V berth installed, my boat does not have the generator shut down.
New sensors were on clearance from West Marine, 59.00

See, I am getting something done.
Jon
Edit, just noticed the glare on the new sensor sticker, 05/21 MFDG date

Gorly girl, if i start both my motors with all the canvas on except for the back camper top a d leave my door open to the cabin mine go off too. Its normal. I just close my door till im underway. All the fumes have nowhere to go but in and down

Hey Jeff, Yep, I was talking about the new one I put in the cockpit. Soon as I opened the forward vent and rolled up the aft curtain all was good. Just surprised me how quick the cockpit filled up. Good to have the new sensor in to keep things in check.

Who’s up? I’m going to the bikini thread. TechMitch, help me out with a Fat Bottom Girl
