Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

A Tuneup is as much diagnostic as it is prescriptive. Your goal should be to receive a fully functioning boat. The seller's goal is to provide one. If a tuneup is required to achieve that, that's on him.

To put it another way, you shouldn't have to care what the seller needs to do to make the boat sellable. If it is throwing alarms, or not reaching spec'ed rpm, or failing to fry your eggs, whatever, there is no need for you (or your wallet) to get drawn into the drama.

Copy- Thanks BobEast

The issue is being fixed by the seller. Was on the boat today inspecting hull and props...Kirk Out

Hi all!

I have completed reading all 105 pages of this thread!

And no, I'm not going to:

Ask what WOT RPMs should be or MPG at 3200 RPMs or what RPM is needed to plane
OR whether v-drives or outdrives are better
OR how to diagnose water ingestion issues with v-drive models
OR why the tension finger gets worn in the windlass
OR why there are 3 batteries 1 for port 2 for starboard
OR how to mount a new flatscreen TV in the V-berth...

I'm just going to post this link to a boat I made an offer on yesterday:

I'm heading down to Page AZ from my home of Moab post election day, to jump in the lake and lake test the boat!

This seems like a pretty good price for this boat, once you get the engines running good, hoping for a quick fix

Closing this week. Take possession by the weekend, just in time for X-mas on the lake! Bring on the maintenance nightmare! $30,000 total price.

Seller has performed all work required to make vessel fully functional. I need to sit down with the mechanics to ascertain exactly what work was performed. I've been told about plugs being replaced, injectors cleaned and sensors replaced. Nonetheless, now it hits 4700 at WOT and cruises nicely at 3200.

Same as I get with my 2000. With just me and my wife I push the throttle up to 3k on the tach and it will get right on plane and ends up at around 3400 where I like to run holds plane easy at 3200.

OK>>> Here goes. A Newbie question that I'm sure has been posted numerous times. However, I've been looking for like a whole 5 minutes and can't find the answer I'm looking for...
Zinc anodes. Where are they ALL? Just want to make sure I don't forget any.! Thanks for everyone's help! Stay well

Sorry. Should have been more specific... Remember, I'm a newbie!!! V-drives. Thanks for the attached info.!

Note, for your V-Drive. I don't think Sea Ray installed them, but a PO may have installed an anode on each shaft. Everything else should be listed in the parts manual.

Not sure. I'm scouring the parts manual and I'm not finding them listed specifically or in the locations that I normally would find them. Such as on the shaft or the trim tabs. I KNOW that they would be there, however I don't see them.

The Parts manual lists the Transom Zinc (as opposed to anode), but you're right I don't see the ones for the trim tabs listed. Those were probably included in the assembly from Bennet

Also, I believe Sea Ray doesn't recommend shaft zincs.

Mmmmm. Thanks for any help. Why do you think SR doesn't recommend zincs on the shafts?
Interesting. My previous boat had zincs on the sea strainers, heat exchangers, trim tabs, rudders and shafts. Just bought Civility and just want to cover all the bases.

Happy new year! I’m looking for a 2000- 2002 310 350 with Vdrives and Gen . We live in Michigan. We had a deposit on one in Ohio but the deal fall through. Not happy! :-/

I was told they don't use zinc's on the shafts due to that it could cause cavitation on the props in the tunnels.
