Official 1980's Weekender/Sundancer 300 thread

Not that this necessarily helps you find one, but as a point of reference, this was a factory installed seat from a 1999 370EC. So dont think you have to find one from a similar size or model boat. If you can find one, just get measurements and see if it will fit.

Here's another angle

The whole top is hinged and opens for storage.

We keep all the life jackets in it and also stow the cockpit cover under it when we take it off.

I got them from eBay. Sorry, I don't recall the brand. I can check next weekend. However, if you search 12v led lights on eBay, there's thousands to choose from.

Hey Shaun! How did you install the blue led lights in the cockpit area? Where did you get those? quality etc - thanks!!

I think what I'm gonna try next is to go to Sea Ray and ask if they still supply them or if they can send me the info needed to have one made. I've started the LED change over and the boat comes home this weekend to make things easier for me

These are the lights I got.

They are all over eBay. And the best part, they are dirt cheap and CRAZY bright! I think I paid about $15 for the two strips. I bought 6 all together an installed them using a separate switch. All together I've got maybe $50 in them and they are ridiculously bright and everyone on the dock loved them. Best deal you'll find for these type of lights.

Be sure and post some pics of the LEDs and let me know what you find out from Sea Ray. Good luck!!!

I will. I'm just switching out the overhead lights in the arch to red and the lower deck lights to red/white. Once the boat is moved I will decide about interior and Nav lights

Yhank you very much for all the info!! I was looking at XKglow.com quite expensive, this is more along the lines of what I'm thinking! The seat you installed in back looks great!

Ok.. after much research… I decided to go with Beernutz’s suggestion. I went to XKglow’s website Really cools stuff! After having a few questions answered by them, I purchased the
10pcs 7 Color Strip Kit and Remote Control for $85.00 then purchased 2 wire extension kits $23 & $18 wanted to make sure I had enough options. Total price $ 125.00 The kit I bought says it’s a motorcycle kit, however there is NO DIFFERENCE from the boat kit. I only want to do my cockpit area and the boat kits have to many LEDS! I was able to customize a kit. The boat kits are $180 & $165. Shipped yesterday, US seller can’t wait to install! Will update when install is complete thanks for all the suggestions & feedback! ThankHLO

I have seen these on eBay but never heard from anyone who had one and kinda thought they were a bit too good to be true. Hard to believe that one light could be that bright. Have you tried it? If so, what do you think?? Any info you can provide would be great!

Great! I'll let you be the guinea pig and report back!!

Well I have been doing quite a few changes to my boat and I also know we've got quite a few of us on here now. I don't really consider what m doing a "restoration" so instead of doing a restore thread I thought I'd start this and hopefully we can share some good ideas. Here's a few of the things I've been up to.

First was painting he cabin. It has made a big difference with brightness and updating.

I also built and painted this shelf. It's worked out great.

I replaced the old table with this cherry veneer table.

As you can see in these pics I also replaced the carpet with hardwood teak and holly.

Replaced all of the old camper style lights with these all LED lights

Installed blue LEDs

Thanks to Quints wonderful suggestion, I installed these stainless cup holders

I installed this L lounger found on Craigslist from a 1999 370EC and the pedestal table purchased from eBay.

You can also see in the pics I removed the rails and teak from the stern and gunwales and had brushed anodized aluminum pieces custom made to finish it off.

Current projects in the works include removing pin striping, which is done but the top side still needs to be buffed and polished. The other exciting one is the canvas. Our canvas guy starts this week replacing all canvas with the tan Sea Ray color canvas. We are very excited about that project. That's all for now. Please feel free to leave comments or suggestions. More importantly, lets see what you're doing with yours!!!! Its time for some new ideas!!!! :)

Hey Shaun - wondering if you can help with this question. I have my LED light kit. Ready to install tomorrow. It comes w/ a controler (multi lcolor kit) & switch, however I want to wire it to the existing cockpit light switch on my panel. The controler has a blk and white wire only. I know you can do it this way just not sure how to connect, any suggestions?
Thx-
Don

Don,
Not being 100% certain of how your switch panel is wired, it shouldn't be too difficult to do. On the back side of where your switch panel for your cockpit switch is, there should be access to the wire going to that switch and should also be a ground block for all the switches. You should be able to attach the white wire form the kit to a place on your ground block. Then disconnect the output wire coming from your cockpit light switch and cut the connector off. Then just strip and splice the black wire from the kit and the wire you cut from your cockpit lights, place a new spade connector on the two wires and reattach it to the back of the switch. This is assuming your setup is like mine. If this doesn't sound familiar, take a pic of your switch panel, fuse block and ground block area and post it so I can see what it looks like. The LED's will draw next to no power so you should have no problems adding that small additional draw to that switch. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks so much Shaun!! Will do!

Can you guys post up the make and model of your AC/DC fridges? I currently have a Norcold DE 251D on my boat that is on it's last legs and I am looking at replacement possibilities.
Thanks!

I ended up replacing mine with a new 110 fridge and installed a power inverter to run it, and everything else, while I'm away from the dock. Maybe someone else has a good replacement for yours??
