I’ll get the water out of there and start poking around diagrams are super helpful thanks!!!

I know this is not the same subject but....
for the first time in the two years I have owned this boat I took some friends out for a long ride. Prior to this I never bothered to listen to music. I was SO outdone when I discovered that at 5 to 6MPH, my engine noise completely over whelmed my sound (at Max output). To my knowledge these are the original speakers but a fairly new Sony radio unit. When at dock the transom speakers are too loud to talk and the cabin speakers disrupt thinking. I have an 86 300 Sundancer w/ twin 260's. Any suggestion that would not require giving up eating for a month

Has anybody found a replacement gasket for the 2 small deck hatches on the 300 DA or WE? They are the older style Taylor Made hatches with the higher profile. I dont see anything on their site that looks like mine. It kind of a wide L shaped profile. Not leaking but very dry and comes off black when you wipe your hand on it. I'd like to have new before touching the old ones.

Can you post a photo of the gasket showing the profile?

I’m looking to replace mine due to the glass crazing. I’m sure the used the same hatches on mine. I will look tomorrow when I’m down

Id see it you can get the numbers of the hatch and call the folks at Taylor. I did that with my screw molding Al they found the rubber

If you want the speakers to scream you need to get separate amps hooked up to "component" speakers. Head units only put out like 50 watts. Also speaker placement is important as sound travels down as soon as it comes out, so mounting up high will be better. I used to sell high end car systems and had a nice one myself in my younger years, its the same technology on a boat. It might also make you re-evaluate your battery set up, my system was so wild on my car the head lights would flicker when the bass dropped.

Any opinions on selling price of an 88 weekender 300? It is quite clean and the engines were replaced in 2001 and now only have less than 175 hrs on them. I'm on a lake in Georgia. New exterior rug, new fridge, seat upholstery looks new, sun beam boat cover like new.

A lot goes into figuring out a good price, both for you and the Buyer. The low engine hours are a huge plus…..do you have good A/C, how clean and spiffy is the vessel. How long since vessel was pulled and bellows replaced and bottom inspected and/or painted? Toilet and holding tank good? Got a good sound system? Is all of the vinyl on all seats good, or is there stains and/or tears? Pictures would help, I think you’re looking $25 K plus, how much depends on all of previous info.

A/c compressor is brand new replaced it myself.

pin stripes are faded and need to be replaced, but with wash and wax she shines up good

hull is overdue to get painted it’s a $4k job

Porta potty, no generator

seats are like knew, the rest of the vinyl is just kinda old and faded but no damage

New head unit and speakers but not crazy with amps and subs

I first listed as 18k and now dropped to 10 after only one hit, just trying to be done with it.

I paid 9K for my 86 300 at the end of 2020. It needed some work including lower shift cables and a camper top (didn't know the top leaked until after I bought it). In after thought, I paid too much. To be honest, the porta potty would be a turn off on a 30 footer.

I played around wit my system and made some adjustments. Decided to keep what I have and move them next spring .

+1….. No generator hurts a bit, but not a deal-breaker. The porta-potty is a real issue. A couple of guys goin’ fishin might be OK with potty, but any serious couple going away for a few days, or even weeks, aboard will not be OK with it. $15K should’ve gotten it sold, though, as is….has the publicity for the sale been good?

I think the hookups are all there to make it happen so if someone wanted it bad enough I guess they could just mod the boat.

I dropped from 18k to 10k just to get it to move and got 2 hits right away. I was gifted the boat so the sooner I get rid of it the better.

What a mis-guided view of entertainment and hydro-therapy……..;)

Hi Everybody,
Need some help. We have an older girl, ‘88 300 SunDancer. See attached picture of an old fuse block, I need to replace it. Should I be trying to find one like this, or just get something newer? I’m having trouble with blowing fuses on my Vaccuflush pump, I think my pump might be seizing…..makes things difficult for my wife, she shouldn’t have to always leave the boat and go up to the marina shower room….I gotta get this thing fixed…any suggestions?
