I was surfing the internet for possible parts dealers. Not much luck so I searched for & read some CRS threads pertaining to parts & parts dealers. Do Sea Ray parts fall under the latest Homeland Security regs??? Authorized dealrs want you to fill out an info form and E-Mail it to them. Then they'll get back to you. Are you kidding me? WTH? Am I missing something here? I wanna buy stuff. Not marry your daughter.

There's a point and a question in there somewhere. I'll keep looking.

Meanwhile, it must have been my turn to deal with jersey driving as.. bozos. I had to deal with two particularly bad jerks this morning. But I only had a short ride into the office this morning, about 35 miles. That's one JO per 17.5 miles. Seems like a high average.

Depends on the parts you are looking for... I have no idea what boat you have so I don't know if you are looking for vacuflush parts or a new Sea Ray embossed cleat.

For Sea Ray specific parts, you have to go through an authorized Sea Ray dealer... or you can try Flounder Pounder ( http://www.fpmarine.com/ ) which is sortof a Sea Ray surplus place.

For systems components (the vast majority of the parts on boats), there are many places to get those. Sea Ray is a fiberglass and trim factory and systems integrator. They don't make bilge pumps, holding tanks, engines, props, etc...

The point is that it seems really tough to buy Sea Ray parts & accessories. I began looking for a particular steering wheel & was hoping to see stuff like embossed seat cussions and the like. The question was somewhat retorical(sp), the reply(s) I am hoping for are links, like fpmarine. Saw them last night & will go back.

I know not to look for a Sea Ray bilge pump. Its just that the dealers websites, not having pages for parts & accessories, was suprisingly dissapointing to me. I'll learn though thanks in huge part to this site.

I know I need to include my boat information. When I take delivery, hopefully 8/23/08, I will proudly do so. Thanks again.

Sea Ray constrains their dealers from selling outside their territories. A smart dealer isn't going to sell a hundred or thousand dollar part to someone outside his area over the 'net which might cost him his franchise. He does not want to lose the means to sell hundred thousand / million dollar boats.

Best regards,
