was at the bar at Pier A , looked up through the window and thought I was hallucinating...
just when you think you've seen it all

I think that's the Draken something something from Norway. It's the largest Viking replica and has been making a tour on the East coast. I saw it up in Rockland, Maine in late July.

I think that’s the new training ship for Mass. Maritime

LOL all of these … valid suggestions
the thing was massive for sure

That is the Draken Harald Hårfagre, a Viking longship built in Norway and it sailed across the Atlantic. It spent the summer of 2017 in the Great Lakes. This past summer I believe it was sailing up and down the east coast.

It makes the theory that the Vikings sailed across the Atlantic years ago and was the first to discover and colonize North America very much a possiability.

That's been proven fact, no longer theory. Lots of old artifacts and villages found along New England...such as by Leif Erikson...a Norse explorer, dated ~500 years before Columbus sailed the Ocean Blue!

DrakenHH was to start her east coast tour from Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic CT....I worked there for almost 10 years.
