Odd question- Why isn't the 500/52 DA more popular?

Funny cause actually considered one a while back. Went to Annapolis boat show. Was blown away by them.
Things had a real house size fridge, a kitchen table, full beds. Pretty amazing.
One had a ladder to go up on roof with a full size picnic table.
Gibsonboats.com check it out.

I kind of liked the space between the windshield and the hardtop. When it's all glass it begins to feel like an enclosed area to me and too "grown up."

I just showed this to wife. She said said oh hell yeah. Guess we might be movin on from SR to Gibson by spring.
Life changes fast, we could live on it. I can see this happen.

I agree 100%. My open windshield was probably the only thing I liked better about my 42DA over the 48.

If they had one that would fit my 34' slip I would be sorely tempted to swap for my 310DA.

There was a pretty ancient 30-some foot houseboat we would drive by and I always thought the layout would have been pretty perfect for how we use our boat. But it seems like they don't make 30-ish feet houseboats anymore.

Same here. Its big reason I do not like the 48.

I am with @fwebster on the single state room. If I had two, I'd have people I could not get rid of. It would be nice at first the become too much. I experienced that with a 46' ocean, never again. We like entertaining during the day/early evening etc. that part is great. But the mornings get a little cramped. I like having all the extra room in the salon area a single stateroom affords. Although the 06-08 48 is a dream boat for sure. I love the enclosed hardtop, that in and of it self is worth the money for that boat.

I find it strange that Sea did not use any of the area under the helm on this boat for living space. Not 100% sure why. I always thought that "Sundancer" meant V-Drives with a berth or Second area under the helm. It's possible the standing area at the helm just ended up to low. Just seems weird.

I believe the salon, with it's low overhead, is directly under the helm area of the cockpit.
I must be talking about the wrong boat then. I was in What I believe was a 2004 55 Sundancer and when you went down the steps, Everything below went from those steps to the bow. There was nothing behind the steps.

Pretty much kind of, maybe, possibly narrowed my search down to two boats. One QSM powered the other MAN. Cummins boat is 70k more. I prefer the Cummins and white boat but for an additional 70k??

Other than my first Sea Ray I owned the last 3 almost 10 years a piece.

From the other MAN thread you may only need half that time to break even.
