Ocean Vodka

I used to make my own beer all the time (pre bad pancreas days). I made a hell of a Killian Red Clone. Bottled it in 22 oz bottles so I didn't have to visit the fridge as frequently. I seemed to have a lot more "beer drinking" friends then....Funny when you think about it..

Now that I think about it, I miss drinking beer but I am afraid that ship has sailed. Oh well..O'douls or Club Soda for yours truly.

Yea...I have my moments for beer drinking but recently have really been enjoying wines........Everything for its occasion I guess

The bummer was how good Stoli Elit is. I wish I could say that for $60, it's no better than Belvedere or Goose, but the stuff IS smooooth.

Stoli Elit is our favorite! It has just been made available in our area. We've always had friends bring it back from New York or bought it in the "duty free" areas of the airport. Ocean is very good/comparable for the price. We tried it this past fall at a food and wine festival.

Still looking for that Ocean vodka. can't find it in my neighborhood. maybe I need to move.

Tonight i'm trying Ciroc vodka made from grapes. it's really smooth and has a nice grape taste to it. thumbs up.

Since this thread has been hijacked multiple times that sorta stayed on the subject [but not quite] how about opinions on the best companion for vodka? The Admiral and I aren't hard drinkers but a Bloody Mary has become our traditional weekend cruiser-breakfast. We've tried just about every brand available and we both have to testify that "Zing Zang" is absolutely the best bloody mary mix we've come across, bar none - and we've tried at least a couple dozen different brands. If you're not as spicy as our tastes, you can "cut" it half-and-half with V8 and enjoy the best use of vodka we've found.

We don't leave the dock without Zing Zang in the galley. I'm still looking for a reasonably priced vodka to compliment it so I'll keep checking in on this thread :smt001

ah, the apple-tini, shaken not stirred! i add two shots of apple juice (MarkD's recipe) to take the edge off (chicks dig it a bit more sweet!)
