No, I think they get health coverage now too... wait were talking about something else...

This sums it up....

Let me get this straight . . . We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people,
without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a Dumbo President who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

Ya'll need to stop complaining and just join in. "When in Rome, act like a Roman."

I just got signed up for food stamps. What a deal! I love this country. Free stuff everywhere.

Politics and opinions aside, the child coverage to age 26 thing bailed me out of well over $100K of unexpected medical expenses on my 21 year old daughter last year. So for that particular item, I am very grateful.

It really doesn't get much more clear than that.

Now I'm thinking... If I were able to go to Mexico, and become a citizen (I know, HAH), then cross the border illegally back into the USA, I could have all kinds of rights afforded me that I doubt I will be able to afford as a normal citizen. Free health care, free language tutors, free school, food stamps, on and on. It's not all seemingly so much ObamaCare related, but then, isn't it?

I'm going to quit my job and buy a boat now. Getting health insurance was the last thing I needed to do before I could be a complete worthless sack of .....

Life is good!

At 21 an emancipated voting age adult should have insurance. If they had what they needed you would not have had "$100K of unexpected medical expenses". Nothing is free, sombody has to pay for it. Looking at my latest insurance bill I think I got your bill.

Did you hear about the vacation ruling in Europe? If you get sick on your vacation you get a do-over vacation. When we gonna pass that here? Maybe we could add getting a do-over weekend if it rains while we are trying to boat.

You obviously know nothing of my daughter or my situations to know why she could not carry insurance on her own last year.

I find irony amusing.

The "health plan" is a huge boon for the private insurance industry because it makes everyone buy private insurance. Part of the negative poll numbers for the plan come from the left because this is NOT a public plan.

In fact, this health plan looks very much like the plan signed into law by a Republican named Mitt Romney for the state of Massachusetts. Now, a Republican is running against what is essentially a national version of something he personally signed into law the last time he held public office.

I find it ironic that in 2010 the Republican party ran against cuts in the public medicare system but once in office proposed (and passed!) a budget plan based upon privatizing that system. (presumably, everyone would then go out to buy private plans). Now they are running against a plan based upon privatized health care.

Yes, yes, I know, it's all about the "mandate". Uh huh. I know. I understand the (legitmate) broccoli arguments.

Yes. . .market solutions for medical care. Hmmm. Next time you have a broken arm or foot; ask the doctor about the rates he will charge. Let me know if anyone in the Emergency room can even tell you the rates they will charge.

Ok. . .we are in the holding tank. I have my flame suit on. Does anyone need propane for their flame-gun? I have extra. . .

I don't get the 'free' comment

It's all a mute point now isn't it. The highest court in the land has been swayed by public opinion so what's next? Of course this is my opinion but it's in the holding tank so who cares?

BTW, don't hold your breath waiting for your insurance rates to drop because of the forced increase in the insurance business. In fact they should increase the tax rate on profits made by the insurance company's because of this mandate.

Old school: don't worry. I care. :)

Those on the right have been claiming FOR YEARS that the law was dramatically unpopular. In what way is it therefore bowing to public opinion?

Regarding profits: don't forget that they MUST cover per-existing conditions. Supposedly, the only way that works is to also make healthy people "buy in".

It is not going to be the GOVERNMENT that will make you eat broccoli. It will be your privately purchased insurance policy which will offer a Brocolli discount.

November should be interesting and a close race now that some buddy just bought close to 30 million votes.
