NYC Trip/Overnighter (and the last word on big boats)

When I get my SeaTow membership, I think I'll give it a run, sounds awesome... tack on another 45 minutes for me being up river...

How about fuel stops? Food? Any good places to anchor and take up some views for a few hours?

Are you doing this in a day or staying over somewhere?

We make it a day trip leaving around 9 am. We cruise up the Hudson to sight see by the Intrepid but I have not gone much further than that. We go back to Liberty landing for fuel just off the Hudson. They have 2 restaurants there, but we have been going to Port Washington (by around 2:30) for lunch, then back to Bridgeport for around 4-5 pm. We don't anchor because the ride is just great as jg's pics show.

It's a great day trip. We plan on doing this mid-august so if you want to tag along, let me know. Usually two other boats go with me.

For the cheapest fuel in the area, you can go just north of the GWB. there is englewood marina and a little further north is alpine marina. last time I checked, Alpine was $3.29/gallon, englewood was $3.49. If you are looping around manhattan then it's not too far out of your way.
