I was debating driving from Pittsburgh to see the show. Is this a show worthy of a 5 1/2 hour drive? Any past attendees able to comment?

10 years ago I would have said definitely. Back then the show was the entire length of the Jacob Javits center (spanning several City blocks) plus a mezzanine. Today, the show is maybe half of the Javits center with both boats and vender booths together.
If you were making the trip to buy a boat or to site see other places and spend a night or two I would say go for it, but just for the show, I am not sure.

We were thinking of coming in for the show, then spending the evening sight seeing and spending the night in the city, then heading out the next day sometime.

Used to be a BIG deal years ago. Now it's a small excuse for a show.
Save a few bucks, stay home and wait for the Miami show.....!
