Joe, so I guess we're back to your suggestion on rafting up in Hemlock Cove and dinghy to Tobey. Do they allow to bring dinghies there?
 
All this talking about dingies is gettin me ansy again lol I bought a motor but don't have a boat to put it on. Anybody have a suggestion on what to do? It kills me to spend 1500 on one. (Yea Im cheap)
Btw what's the laws on dinking after dusk?
 
I had a private airshow today, 2 of these bastards were buzzing my house all day within 1.000ft or less at times. :wow: . :smt021

As far as dinghy a, my buddy says we can dock one boat there say" Ron's" for dinner they give you a few hours , take people on board with him the rest will dinghy in like Navy seals, we tie all the dinghys on the bow rail of said boat and go to dinner then we leave under the cover of darkness, with (portable) battery operated USCG approved nav lights on our dinghys. See we can raft in Hemlock but eat at Tobay!!!!
 
Can I put a red and green light on helmet and use that as a light? This way I'm being safe in 2 ways. Visibly and physically. Now that's smart..!!

ok now on a seriouse note. Anybody have any reviews on Newports air floor 9 foot dingy? I never herd of Newport before but there half the price. I know you get what you pay for but how bad can they be?
 
If you never heard of them DON'T ! Keep checking craigslist, they will pop up soon. Probably some from sandy

its no wake in the channel outside the anchorage, so no worries about that. There is a marina in Tobay and the place will be packed....
not sure if allowed to anchor overnight.. I can check on that

Just asked my buddy who is a resident of Oyster bay. He said there is no anchoring at all allowed in Tobay.

yep, No transient riff raff.
Spent the $ at the marina, or get the heck out.
Hemlock or Coast Guard cove is just down the channel.

I've got a 2007 Mercury 340 Airdeck in Hypalon that I bought new in 2009 that I may be interested in selling......it's up at Defender being serviced right now, should have it back in a few weeks. Let me know....

If I daytrip to Zachs that day and you are rafted up there, can I introduce myself and join the raftup for the day?

FYI, I got fogged in last year and could not come with my boat as planned but waved to you all from my friend's Chapparal who came out of Lindenhurst. He lost it due to Sandy
