Just wondering what folks are thinking as far as where and when in the Pacific Northwest! I'm hoping we'll be able to make it to the San Juans again the last week of July/first week of August. That's usually our big trip, but we hit a ton of lakes in Idaho on the short weekends. Can't wait!!

So what are YOUR plans??

We love the San Juan's and up into the Canadian Gulf Islands, but we don't have definitive plans as of yet....

We don't have definite plans yet either. We are meeting with my cousins this weekend who we normally spend a week with. We get our calendars together and write down some date. We normal head up to Canada for a week at the end of July.

Anytime after the 15th of July is more dependable weather.

We go out in April and spend a week or so getting the boat ready then go north. Some times we make it to Alaska some times to the Prince Rupert area. We get back in July then go home for a month or so before going south to Olimpia. Last year the weather was good year before we got rain.

That's what I wanna' do when I grow up :smt001

No "long duration" cruising plans on the calendar just yet. We are hoping to run up to Victoria on a long weekend in the next couple of months. We also have Viking Fest at Poulsbo penciled in.

We are hoping the calendar works out for the trip to the San Juans Todd had previously mentioned in August- at the very least parts of it.

We have the last two weeks of July, andpossibly into the first week of August open. Seems like this is the year for us to head North for a San Juans flotilla cruise. Keep us in mind...

You guys missed a GREAT run in 08! Those darn wedding plans messed you up! We'll be up here and around and you're welcome to join us wherever we end up! There is so much to see and a lot of great places to visit. You won't regret the trip! Holger and Corinne had a great time and we had fun with them as well. We'll stay in touch and coordinate plans as summer approaches! I'm sure Todd will have some ideas for you!

Between Dave's boat, Holger's boat and your boat, I think we'd have a 94, 95 and 96 270 all in attendance! They both had the swimplatform addition and it's a spectacular boat for cruising!

Its about time Holger got his butt/boat back up here... We plan to leave FH after the 4th July and hang out at Victoria, Brentwood Bay via Sydney Spit and north to some other anchorages in the Gulf Islands... Maybe 2 maybe 3 weeks... nothing definite... May even hit Vancouver for a couple of days and of course Sucia... anyway, still planning something... Got a few boats already set up...

Vancouver would be a fun destination. I'm not sure if we could make it THIS year, but down the road. And yes, Holger needs to head this direction, but it SEEMS like he was coming in 2011? I haven't heard from him in a while and should probably bug him!

Current plan is 17-20 days up to Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast, Desolation Sound and back to Puget via the Gulf and San Juan Islands. Looking at mid-July through first week of August and getting very excited! This will be our third full season with a boat and it just keeps getting better!

If you make it up here... let's get some beer!
My local haunt is the waters from Victoria - San Juans - Gulf islands. I'm hoping to do a Desolation trip this year too but haven't cleared all the hurdles just yet. I was slacking off with my passport application so I haven't been south of the border for a couple years... but I have it now so we'll be down for a visit this year.
Can't wait for summer!!

I heard a rumor from M&P Mercury (the Sea Ray dealer) in Vancouver that there's a Sea Ray get-together in Ganges harbor on Saltspring on the Easter long weekend April 2-3-4-5.

Bumping an older thread now that it's allegedly Summertime!

We'll be cruising Olympia, Poulsbo, Deception, and various points in the San Juans the week of July 30 to August 9. Anyone have a definitive fuel dock list? I have a Waggoner's of course, but looking for stops in the middle Sound, say between Tacoma and Deception Pass?

We'll be in the San Juans from July 30th - Aug something.

We should organize a rendezvous at least for a day or two.

Absolutely - it will be our first trip up that didn't involve a ferry, so we're game for most anywhere....provided we don't do any gelcoat comparisons, as I'll most certainly lose! :)

We have slips reserved at Friday Harbor on the 5th and Roche on the 7th. Planning to be on the hook at Sucia the night of the 6th.

Aug?

we should meet at Poet's sometime soon.

Todd - yes, we'll be in the San Juan's in August. The last weekend in July we'll be in the South Sound, probably Jarrell's Cove then either Lakebay or Gig, haven't decided which.

Any tips for crossing the Straight of Juan de Fuca Southbound? Time of day, tides etc., places to avoid? Deception Pass as well. Our time and itinerary is pretty flexible, and we of course want to everything we can to remain safe.
