Nuteak Flooring On A 340

B-Fitting,

Looks really nice!

I noticed on the NuTeak website that they say there are 2 colors to choose from. What color did you have installed?

I will add this to my list of things I want to do... The boat fund is depleated this year...

It's very doable yourself. If you are skilled and patient then it would be very easy to install. It really involves gluing it down, rolling it smooth and caulking the perimeter.

I agree with your statement about “skilled and patient”. If you are an experienced wood worker you should be able to handle the job, the making of your template is critical and attention to detail is a must. I did not do my boat myself…. Absolutely no patients for this kind of detail. The work was done by Patrick of Nu-Teak Mid-Atlantic.

How did they do the SR logo? Looks laser engraved, but since this stuff is PVC based and lasering PVC is very bad for lasers (produces hydrochloric acid which corrodes laser parts), I wonder if they perhaps applied a stain or something else?

You can have either black or white joints, I have black.

After seeing how they install it, is this something you think you could do yourself? It looks like they have kits for some boats, and now am wondering how much you could save.
The cost is about half if you do it yourself.
