Would love to hear some of your experiences with NuTeaking a 270 or similar sized vessel. Its a recent idea of mine, but would love to hear some positives and negatives from those who have already done so. If it happens, I would consider cabin, cockpit, and swim platform. quite a few threads on here with the pros and cons along with debates on how hot it gets........I can tell you I was on a 410ec in fla last week that had the traditional colored stuff and you absolutely could not walk barefoot on it......and it was stained and worn in a few places too - as far north as you are, the heat man not be as much of a problem, likewise if you go with a lighter color......Have you considered the woven style mat in place of carpet instead? Many colors available in teak style patterns and its not a permanent install......also way cheaper
I have a 2 and 4 yr old, so being able to hose down the cockpit is key. For this reason I am trying to avoid any carpet-like material. Right now we have the carpet taken out and its so easy to clean and hose. But...that teak definitely has a sharp look. Thanks for sharing your experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just replaced my carpet with infinity nylon woven material. Does not retain water and looks so much better then the old 19 yo carpet it replaced. The price was so good I had them do the swim platform and interior with the same material. It really upgraded the appearance of an older boat. One benefit of having everything covered..... no more foot prints and it stays cool in direct sun. They also had the same material in different colors with the lines to look like the flooring you talked about .... but I knew if the lines weren't perfect it would drive me nuts. I asked them to make the helm floor covering in 2 pieces so I can open the engine w/o having to unsnap the entire carpet like the OEM carpet piece it replaced.
I love the color and the pattern, can you share that info with me so I can consider the same. Infinity has so many patterns to choose from.
I have a message into the Rug Pilot to get the exact name if the material. I'll post up when I receive.
