This bluefin was caught off the Virginia coast on June 24th... Wow.. 573 pounds and 4 hours to get it in the boat. There's some good eatin'

oh, i've caught bunches of em like that, but i practice catch and release, so i'm afraid i have no proof. :wink:

if you meet my wife, go with that story. that's how i justify the price of diesel fuel. :thumbsup:
 
That's a beauty, for sure!

Up my way, Bailey Island holds a tuna tournament every year in late July. I think they allow hook and line fishing, but I seem to recall the trophy fish are usually taken by harpoon. Seriously primitive fishing, but spectacular to watch if you're lucky enough to be close to the action.
