I like to keep my bow sunpads on the bow of the boat. They’re heavy and my wife can’t safely move them from the cabin to the bow.

Have any of you made a sunbrella cover to stretch over the sunpads when not in use? Just trying to protect these guys from sun damage.

That is on my list of sewing projects too. Instead of making fitted covers I'm contemplating making flat snap on covers that will cover them. Mine are vinyl covered and not in bad shape but I want to leave them on the deck as well and protected form the weather.

My seats have rails on either side. Seems like a cover should be able to snap around the rails?

P.S. I’m trying to talk myself into a sewing machine and this seems like a great starter project.

p.p.s. Could a mod fix my autocorrect type in the title: Now -> Bow

The title was a bit confusing for sure. Even if you went deep and bought a Sailrite machine, over time it will pay for its self if you prove to be self trainable. The video series they have on the DIY projects really are quite helpful. I just agreed to take on a full canvas enclosure for a dock mate so I'll be spending alot of time in the sewing room, do you still want me to make you those port hole covers? I was not thrilled with the design myself and not sure what to do to improve them.

My sun-pad vinyl was looking pretty sad. When I had my camper canvas made, I took my sun-pad to the canvas guy to use as a pattern. He made me a whole new sun-pad out of the same material / color as my canvas.

No need for a canvas cover if they are already made with canvas materials. Bonus points that it matches the enclosure.

Different boat, but I have a sunbrella cover over my bowpad that fits like a fitted sheet and clips around the rails that line the pad on either side. I'll look for pics or will take one tonight or tomorrow.
Warning, if you go this route you will need to take the cover off before getting underway as wind will get under it and blow up like a balloon.... Ask me how I know :)

Edit:
if you look in the picture, you can see how it attaches to the rail.
Best shot I had on my phone...

Thank you for the picture. That's what I had in mind and your bow setup looks very similar to mine.

Can you send me what you came up with? I’ll pay you for the effort and the shipping.
