Not good news for My Dad....

Ive been away...

There isnt much I can add, as obviously we all feel the same about his Todd. I am very sorry you are going through this, but you are not alone. Most of us will face this situation with our parents at some point. I lost my dad when I was 7, but my mom is going to need me one day.

Just before I went away during festivus, I spent 2 days in the Bronx NY for my mother's sister's wake and funeral. She lost her battle with cancer. I dont have to tell you that in a Guinea family, my aunt was just like a mom to me as we are all very close, and my mom was devastated as her and her 2 sisters are the closest you can be as siblings.

Be strong for him, be a friend and a son, and although hard, try to smile and laugh and make the last days for him as best as can be.

I've received a couple of PMs from a few people. Thanks a ton for the interest, concern and caring. So that I can update everyone, I've copied my last reply from today.

Not good. He's at home but is pretty much sleeping all day now. I stop by daily and visit with my Mom and Tell him that I'm here. The last two days I haven't got a response from him.

I'm really glad My Brother and I took him out for a boat ride. He's really gone downhill the last 6 days.
He's fought hard, but he's not long for the world.

Truly sorry to hear this Todd. A fellow board member on the fourwinns site just lost his father and boating companion yet it was wonderful to see the out pouring of support. Our thoughts are with you as well.
 
I dont know what to say. Once again reading this thread and your last post, Todd, I have tears in my eyes.

I would have posted more but I never know what to say in terrible situations like losing a loved family member.

Often I read your posts about taking your dad out on the boat and it really touched me. I’m happy for you and him.

It's likely things will be very peacefull for your Dad from this point forward if he is sleeping a lot. I say this from my own personal experience as my mom was living with us when she died of cancer. Just tell your Dad that you love him and help your Mom in any way you can.

And don't forget we are all here to support you on CSR too.
