Genny is running fine but I’m not getting power to the circuit panel when I turn the switches on. Is there a switch I don’t know about? If someone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

Check the circuit breaker on the Genny.

If it's tripped on the genny, that is almost always caused by trying to run too many things on the boat at one time or starting the genny and having too much load before it is warmed up.

What model generator do you have?

The model number can be found on the data tag on the generator itself.

The owners manuals can be found pretty easy online usually on the manufactures site and have a good bit of trouble shooting info.

Thank you. It probably is just the breaker. This just happened over the weekend and I haven't gotten in the engine compartment yet to see what I can find. Only the second season with a genny so it's still kinda new to me. Always learning.

We've boated for many years, and very occasionally will trip a breaker from improper load management. Our most common offense is forgetting that our cockpit heater was left on when we went to bed while anchored out. Then after starting the genny in the morning, we make coffee not knowing the heat at the helm is on. The combination of the coffee pot, water heater and helm heat trip the breaker on the genny. Ours is a Westerbeak and everything is sprayed with red paint. It took me awhile to find the breaker as it is not visible even with the hatch up. We need to locate it by feel. Oil dip stick, same thing. Make sure you know we're it goes before you pull it out.

Thank you everyone for your responses. Problem solved. It was actually the main switch on the genny itself. If I had to guess I would say my mechanic probably switched it off when he winterized. So I learned 2 things today. Good day. Happy Boating to all.
