This weekend my 8 year old son made a youtube video. His favorite move is Disney cars and he decided to make a video about a part of that movie.

He has a title page, some basic effects like fading in and out, sound effects, music, credits and some bloopers after the credits.

His sisters helped him with sound effects and props. They all worked together on this. The train whistle is his sister on her flute. She took it apart to make it sound more like a train whistle. For the railroad crossing sound they filled a glass with a bit of water then tapped it with a spoon.

I helped him with editing on the computer but everything you see was his idea and I only followed his instructions.

He keeps checking back to see how may ‘views’ the video has received.

It would be really cool if he got some encouraging comments on the video.

Here is a link to the video

If you have a youtube account could you please watch it or have one of your kids watch it and add a comment? Thank you.

Nice video.

What's a Key Grip?

The DVD Extras is a nice touch.

This will definitely be shown when he's a big Hollywood mogul.

What's a Key Grip?

In movie making a “Key Grip” is the one who operates the filming equipment or tells the people actually operating the camera equipment what to do. .

Nathan’s little sister, Anya (5 years old) was given the responsibility of things like turning on the train, resetting the train, holding the camera in one spot where only she could fit and a few other things.

Nathan put her in charge of the ‘filming operations’ so her title would be Key Grip.

Me being a stage hand, Anya was my boss on the set, LOL!

You are right, we don't care on this "Boating Site"

Put in on "America'S Funniest"

I must be missing something...you have been here about as long as I have but already you are an expert on what should and should not be in the HOLDING TANK.....Perhaps time to read what the 'holding tank" is for...Wesley..help him out..

Hey Doug,

You guys above dogging it, it warns you in the title. Chill out

Frikkin thing wont let me post comments for some reason, Ill keep trying. He did a great job (you all did)

I wanted to post about how my cousin Frank Mosca started doing similar things when he was young, and now he and his partners run Harrington Talents (Harringtontalents.com) and now have a few movies out, and are working their way up the food chain in film.

You will hear about them in years to come for sure, very talented guys.

Very nice job for the young ones...........
Gives them some idea of what's involved and the responsibility of such.

Pat them on the back!!!
