I was wondering if we could get a listing here of all the places on the northern part of Lake Champlain that have Marinas with/without Restaurants near them?

Here's a list of the marinas on Lake Champlain, with contacts, but not much detail. http://www.champlainshoreline.com/mmarinas.html

Does anyone else have more details?

Vermont

Burlington - Breakwaters - Breakwaters Restaurant/Bar - www.breakwatervt.com

Burlington - Boathouse - Is it still called Splash? http://www.enjoyburlington.com/ - Burlington Parks and Recreation web site

Next Door to the Boathouse - Echo Web Cam - http://www.echovermont.org/lakeweather/

Burlington - Perkins Pier -

Colchester - Mallett's Bay - Marble Island - ?

Colchester - Champlain Marina - http://www.champlainmarina.com/index.htm

Colchester - Mallett's Bay Marina -

Colchester - The Moorings, Inc. - http://www.mooringsvt.com/

Colchester - Champlain Marina - http://www.myrecnet.com/ Webcam (horrible fisheye lens - but it gives you some insight into the weather) This website also has pointers to some other webcams in the region.

South Hero - Apple Island resort, west end of the Sand Bar - Just a general store there now. Charge: $3.00 launch fee, $5.00 parking fee. - www.appleislandresort.com 71 Route 2, South Hero - (802) 372-3922

North Hero - North Hero House - looks to be a few slips available here. I've heard mixed reviews of the food.

North Hero - Hero's Welcome - have a dock with spots and a ramp access. Store has a deli in the back. www.heroswelcome.com

North Hero - Shore Acres - Ate there Sat. night, awesome food, but we went by car, so I'm not sure what they have for docking.

North Hero - New England Powerboats up near the Alburgh Bridge has some slips, but I don't think there's anything there for food other than the local store next door.

New York

Plattsburgh - Naked Turtle - There's the city dock, which only has a few openings from what I remember from last summer, and then there's the beach on the South side of the turtle. Are there other places here? http://www.nakedturtle.net/

Westport - Westport Marina - (http://www.westportmarina.com/ )They have the galley( http://www.westportmarina.com/galley/index.html ), with 40 transient slips. www.shipstore.com - has a couple webcams to look at life on the other side of the lake with.

Others?

I am pretty sure there is dock space at Shore Acres. We taook by brother-in-law's 27 foot Carver over a couple of years ago.

New England Powerboat has slips but there is nothing there to eat like you said. The store has sandwiches if you just want to stop for some quick food.

Some on both sides of lake.
Treadwell: Snack bar for sure-maybe restaurant? (NY)
Snug Harbor (Opposite Valcour Island) Excellant rest.(NY)
Marble Island (VT)
Burlington Boathouse-several within walking distance-great town
Plattsburg Boat Basin--Naked Turtle very good (NY)
I know there are some others, but can't think of them off hand.
The " Lake Champlain Atlas of Navigational Charts" is a very handy publication. Up to date charts of the lake and lists of marinas, amenities and restaurants, etc.
About $30.00 as remember. Money well spent. You can "google" it and find how to order.
Good luck and have a great boating season.

As I mentioned in my summary of my Champlain trip last year, the restaurant at Wilsboro Bay Marina was one of my best meals, ever. I'm not kidding. And the marina is world-class in an unbelievably beautiful setting.

(Sadly, looking back at that old post reminded me of how $4.01/gallon was shockingly high during that trip. I'm excited to pay less than $4.50/gallon now).
