Normal operating temperature

Hey guys, I have a 2004 SR 185 Sport w/4.3 Mercruiser V6, it is my first SeaRay but third boat (2 prior Bayliner cuddies). Anyhow, on this SeaRay, it is running just a little over 170 deg during normal operations, is that a little high? Should it be around 160 deg instead? Thanks

All depends on what thermostat is in it. I run at 170 or just north of that.

My 03 225 Weekender with a 5.0 MPI runs just a little over 170 like 172 or so. Seems normal and runs great.

My old 1986 Sea Ray with a 4.3 carb. motor ran at 160. I don't think 10 degrees is an issue so I don't concern myself with it anymore.

I'll echo - 170 in my 182 BR w/ 4.3 carb
