anyone have any experience with Noank Shipyards service?

I am looking for winter storage, we lost our spot in our last place when we sold our old boat last year, so on the hunt for a new spot.

Looking for yards with travel lifts over 35ton capacity, technically we are less than that but travel lifts scare the crap out of me and I prefer a much larger margin of safety.

In that area I prefer Mystic Shipyard......Noank Shipyard/Seaport Marine went through problems years ago, but seem to be on a much stronger financial footing now with new ownership - they own bridgeport marine too.....But why not consider RI? - I know Jeremy stores at the Safeharbor Cowessit facility and they do a good job - they also acquired NEB in Portsmouth

On list at both SH Cowesett and SH NEB, as well as two other yards in MA, but no space unless someone gives up a spot at any of those yards.

I have an email into Mystic as well.

I saw Noank had issues a few years ago, but seems like they have some big investments since so I assume there were a lot of changes.

The investors that came in had big plans to convert the seaport marine property to condos and shops......so far the town has blocked that plan......The R36 project brought a lot of $$$ in.....

I would recommend Safe harbor Cowessett in RI. I am surprised they don’t have any space, that place is huge. If you do get in, I have wintered there the last 3 years and they are great to work with. Good communication and very fair pricing compared to MA yards. They have no problems with you doing your own work (and have been helpful as I have done some work) but if you need something from them they have the man power to get it done.
They have lots of slips that fit my boat so once I am in the water in the spring staying there for a few days to shake things out is not and issue. Same in the fall, I usually get there on the weekend end of Oct and winterized everything in the slip and then they pull it the following week sometime. They can move them to the travel lift with skiffs so you don’t need to be there when going In or coming out unless you want to be.
All in all, great experience with them.
