I was out on Fri, Sun and Today in three separate areas of the Northern Barnegat Bay and I have yet to see one "no wake zone" floating drum anywhere. Kind of suprising that these markers would not have been reinstalled prior to Memorial Day. It looked like most boaters were respecting the no wake zones even without the marks, but I if you were new to the area that would be kind of hard. Hope this is not another one of our Governor's budet cuts.

Wait a week or two. They go in Early June.

Last year, a number were in the wrong location for a few weeks as well.

OH. . .;and those stupid Orange-white Nav hazards (used for races) also are installed in June.

the 3 or 4 on the metedeconk outside wehrlen bros arent up yet either. all the sticks are in leading to our place though. that's EXTREMELY early.

I noticed that the markers were missing. I especially noticed it when bozo went past the marina 50 feet off the docks while on plane. A couple of people would have taken a shot at him, if they could have, I think.

Best regards,
Frank

Same here on the Manasquan. No "no wake's" yet but you would think people would know that you dont go fast in front of marina's. What a bunch of idiots out there. I'm buying a bull horn this year so I can make some new friends.:smt013

i've been told there are no markers in the southbound cut from the metedeconk towards the mantoloking bridge (havent been out there yet). but the nuns and cans look new-ish.

They're always late getting them out by Gun Cut.

I was out this weekend and it seems like the no wake bouys are up in a number of locations. I noticed two no wake bouys IN THE CHANNEL (nav hazard in my mind) south of the Mantaloking bridge. Didn't go north of Mantaloking because excessive debris (WTF!) that was in the water.

yeah i agree boaters in these local should know rules of the road and remember they are resposible for their wake for 200 feet well anyway I was out last weekend and they are all out now.

Well. . .at least those stupid Orange-White race barrels are not all out yet.

Those are a real nav hazard at night.

Looks like many of the no wake markers are out now. Missing a few around the Mantaloking bridge, but otherwise it's not too bad.

Not many boats on the water Saturday, which the rag baggers took advantage of that. They dropped one of their "race' buoys in the channel for Gunner Cut on the Metedeconk. Bad enough having to play dodge boat with them on the river, but do the idiots have to run across a narrow channel, too?

Best regards,
Frank

that's that dopey sail club just before the cut. not sure why they insist on running the races ACROSS rather than WITH the channel. they do the same thing at the mouth of toms river, where the races run ACROSS the ICW. the oddest thing to me is that these tiny little boats usually contain little kids - 12-14 yos! why would you put these kids in harm's way like that?

last week we took a spin on a friend's boat and there was a kayaker heading out through the sticks - not alongside the stupid stick-marked channel - but IN the convoy of boats inside the stick channel. we watched is awe as the boats behind this genius had to drop into neutral so as to not overtake this guy (he was behind us). and they say jet-skiiers are mindless...
