Maybe we could just have black balls for those with lots of negative comments.
At this time I'm starting to understand Jim's point a little better. Having 9 pages there's only 1 or 2 that actually have something relevant with intend to help fixing whatever the issue is. But, on the other hand I don't see that it's a vital feature that lots of people really miss.
John, you have a good point, but I think if we want to have any balls then it should be for both (green and red). As for having control over people posting some crap, they should be flagged and warned by the admins and eventually terminated if the don't comply. For example:
- 3 strikes and one gets warning
- 5 strikes and one gets temp. suspention.
- 10 strikes and account is terminated for good.
Just my .2c
For good? I'd have to come up with a new name, new avatar... Maybe even a new internet provider or router or something.
Yes John, this would be the obvious step. It will be also creating some inconvenience to the member due to the fact that he’ll need to come up with all new credentials (name, email, etc.), assuming we have validation for this (we could also add some extra restrictions on this as well). But, most importantly termination will send a clear message “you mess with us we’ll kick you out”. Granted, lots of people have multiple email addresses and it won’t be rocket science to get back on the site. But, you do this 2-3 times and using these tricks will be harder and harder. Eventually, a member should make a choice; either get his act straight or just quit. It’s very possible that we’ll have some bonehead who’s going to continue playing like it’s a personal challenge, but I’m thinking the number of those will go down and chances are the community will benefit from it.
I can think of two major contributors that would be gone in nothing flat.
Hey I know the Balls are gone - but what's up with the cloud (some have a sun behind it ?)
It shows if you are online
Too many drugs....
