Well our first full day trip with the new to me 2005 280da was real good! Only two problems. The water heater will not get hot from engine.Upon further investigation, I went to remove one of the lines from the heater and it popped out with no effort:smt013
I need a new heater! The second is hard starting of both engines when they are at operating temperature. They start right up when cold but you have to give at least half throttle to get them started when warm. The funny thing is it's both of them and it's everytime:huh: All in all, we had a great time:thumbsup:

Well yesterday I put the boat in a slip in the Sanford marina. Spent the night on it and see the bilge is taking on water :(!!! It's a small amount, but it's still leaking! I'm in fresh water now but plan to use her primarily in salt! So I cleaned the bilge thoroughly so I could pin point the leak. Well I found it. Looks like the starboard steering pin seal is leaking:(. I plan to give the dealer a call tomorrow but I don't see them standing up to the plate!

So it looks like the water heater and starboard engine removal will wind up being on my dime! Gotta love boats......
