Hi guys, This may be more of an informational post then anything.
My boat is a 1988 and still has the old school analog fuel tank level senders. So I decided to upgrade them Maretron's TLM100 NMEA tank sensors. I will be using them with my current Garmin 4212's as I am slowly moving over to a N2k setup.
Here is what I find to be a little peculiar with how these are sold. After I have them in my possession I find out that only Maretron's equipment can program them, after speaking with there tech support. So now I am sending them back to Maretron to be programmed. Then they can be used with any N2K setup as they advertise. Be sure to state that you are not using any of there displays if you order from them.
I am not against there equipment, its just that I am thinking or replacing my gauges with N2K as well and want to use the Garmin GMI 20 to match my existing displays, but will start off with the 4212's. I'll post more info when I get them back and let everyone know how the install goes. My hopes are I can get some fuel eco numbers from them as well. MY current gauges are way to small and not very accurate.
