Todd is spot on about the SF fans not standing on 3rd downs when they are on defense, saw it first hand at the Super Bowl last year and couldn't believe it.

He is not a football fan. He was visiting two summers ago and he, my wife and kids were sitting out on the back deck when I got home from work. They were just about to have dinner and they had a beer and glass of wine. I grabbed a beer, sat down and saw the Steeler hat(cap) on his head. I got up, took the hat off his head, lit it on fire and threw it into the firepit next to the deck. He just looked at me like I was crazy. I said "You're not allowed to wear Steelers gear in my house", with a smirk on my face. I went into my bedroom, grabbed a nice SeaHawks cap and said, "here you go, much better, and it doesn't smell". He was just here for Thanksgiving and laughed and said he'll never forget that.

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE: Add to the two items mentioned above, the NFL. They fined Stealer coach Mike Tomlin $100,000 after Tomlin paraded his fat arse along the white "off limits" zone in the game against the Ravens on Thanksgiving Day. Tomlin's act caused a Ravens runner to veer to his right into the path of a tackler. Had Tomlin not been there strutting his stuff the Ravens might (notice I said "might" not "would have") scored a touchdown!

With less than an hour to go before kickoff, the Superdome is still half empty. (Or half full.) But unless about 30,000 San Francisco fans are on their way in, the Baltimore contingent will be the louder fan base here in New Orleans on Super Bowl Sunday.

Ravens jerseys have outnumbered 49ers jerseys in New Orleans all week, and at the Superdome on Sunday, the fans of the Ravens are much louder than the fans of the 49ers. When Joe Flacco was shown on the big screens in the stadium, he got loud cheers; 49ers players were met with more muted cheers and quite a few boos.

I was in attendance at that game...I remember it well. Crazy game...Reggie Brown almost died on the field, Barry Sanders went over 2,000 yards and the Lions clinched a playoff birth.

Well I must say it was a well played game by both teams. I don't think either team outplayed the other but I do think the Niners had better control over their players and didn't commit nearly as many penalties as the Hawks.

The Hawks shot themselves in their di*ks with all the stooped penalties.
