Newbie looking for lessons long island

hi all. Puchasing 280Da and looking for advice on where i can get boating lessons ( docking , navigating etc) on long island, nassa, south shore. Have several friends and captains but trying to get them for help on a nice boat day in our short season is hard ,so would prefer "for hire" lessons.

Have you tried calling Marine Max or your local Power Squadron? They may be able to help or guide you in the right direction. I am out in Suffolk otherwise I'd be happy to help out.

Check out On The Water Boat Training. The instructor is Rob Walkoviak (516) 587-6670. They also have a web site. He picks you up at the dock in Freeport and gives a 2 hour lesson. I took lessons with him. Well worth the money.
