Thinking of purchasing a 42' 1991 Sundancer at a local marina in Windsor ont. Canada. Is there anything I should be looking for or be aware of for this year and model?
Recently rebuilt motors, not sure of the make. Some minor repairs and maintenance are expected. But are there any majors issues or pbs? My previous boat was a 42ft woody, so I'm not afraid of a little hard work! This is my first big fiberglass boat. Any advice is appreciated.

P.s. TEST driving her tonight at 6:30!!! lol

I would have a marine survery done on it. It nromally costs about 10 dollars a foot, but you get that back with peace of mind.

I think that you will discover that $10.00 / foot for this size of boat will not be a realistic budget number. This is not a canoe that you are getting checked out here guys & besides the actual boat itself, there are several different systems for the surveyor to verify. I paid $15.00 / foot + mileage for my 390 2 years ago. I realize that rates will vary from area to area so call around for rates, but don't skimp on this!! Get the best surveyor that you can find & check out his certifications & references wouldn't hurt either. This is a huge chunk of loot that you are about to fork out. Please take a moment or two to set up your signatures and I hope that your survey results are favourable. Enjoy the new boat & welcome aboard to CSR.

The 42DA is a nice boat but I STRONGLY recommend DIESELS in that boat. The'91 42'DA will weigh 23,000 lbs. with full tanks gas & water...that's a lot to push with 7.4 gassers. Your gasoline usage will be a astronomical.

Here's a link to the factory spec sheet on the 1991 42DA. http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/company1729/1C1_27_74DERNP80652.pdf
