Hi everyone,

My name is Rickey and my wife Alisa and I have owned our (really HER'S!) 1984 Sea Ray Sundancer 270 for just over a year now. This will be our second season and we've been busy getting it ready. With the unusually cool temps, floods and all we haven't really had a spring. Now I hear that the jet stream is going instantly into a summer pattern beginning later this week? Go figure. We do love our boat. It's been very well taken care of its entire life and has spent the last 17 years in the same slip! We keep it at the same marina (Pine Cove on Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma) and really enjoy our boat house. Good people and good times. We've had our share of headaches, as you will with any older boat but I hope to overcome them a little at a time (namely a neutral-detent issue where after starting it up, letting it warm up then putting it in gear it dies). I am currently seeking advice of the aforementioned issue as well as miscellaneous parts,so if any of you don't mind sharing your wisdom, I would very much appreciate it. Also, if you know of a good source for older Sea Ray parts please let me know. I hope to hear from you!

Cheers,

Rickey

Is there really a lake called "Tenkiller"? and it has a Ferry called "Tenkiller Ferry"?

Welcome Rickey.
Post your info on your engine and all boat info in your Signature so we know what you have. It's helps us help you.

Hey Rickey welcome to the forum. Looks like our lake is getting to a normal level. Hope to get out this weekend. Maybe see you around.

Thanks Dafinman,

Well, it looks like we are down for at least until Memorial Day. The problem with the neutral detent has morphed into a dead starter and a new lower unit. That's not gonna stop us from going to the boathouse, though! Heck, we can still have a good time at our dock!

What does boat stand for? Break Out Another Thousand?

Have a good weekend,

Rickey
