Very nice boat. Should run well too with the 350 Mag.

SeaRide,

Is my engine a 350 MAG? It shows as a 5.7L EFI. Is there a difference between the 5.7L EFI and a 350 MAG? I did see a HP difference, so I am assuming there is a difference.

By the way, I am still waiting for my boat to be delivered. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday (which was the second scheduled delivery that did not happen). Arrguhh. But, what can you do. Because I had to buy a new trailer, I had to get the trailer bunks adjusted and this is taking longer than expected. I at least got to play with her last weekend, just couldn't take her home.. So, hopefully I will get it in the next couple of days.

GBolton,

If it is a 5.7 EFI, it would say so on the flame arrestor cover. The 5.7 EFI has 260 HP and the 350 MAG has 300 HP. The biggest difference is that the Mag has multiport fuel injection (one injector per cylinder) and the EFI has two injectors at the intake manifold. If you are really curious, pull the flame arrestor cover and arrestor itself and have a look. WOT for the EFI is 4,400-4,800 and the mag is 4,600-5,000. 2002 was the last year for EFI. By mid to late 02 the 350 Mag replaced the 5.7 EFI. Some would say the 5.0 MPI replaced the 5.7 EFI as they are both rated at 260 HP. However, the 5.7 is a torquier motor than the 5.0.

Thanks man! you made me feel good!.. Im going through BIGGER BOAT syndrome! Im fighting it badly... Im telling myself "I will not refinance my house to get a bigger boat" I already sold my motorcycle to have the nice downpayment i put on my boat.. but when your on the water and see all these bigger boats.....

[/quote]

It is easy to get stuck into bigger boat syndrome. If your boat fits your needs, then you should be happy with it! We all get to enjoy the same blue sky and sunshiney days without a bigger boat payment. I am content with our boat. It suits our needs. I'd rather have a smaller payment so I can spend more $$ on gas, instead of having the big payment and not being able to afford taking it out!

Be happy we live in Florida and own boats. Life is good!

Well, I got my boat delivered yesterday. I am very glad it is in my own driveway finally.

One thing I noticed when looking at the engine was the bilge blower 4" hose and the other 4" hose (not sure what it is called) was in pieces and laying in the floor. The bilge blower bracket was broken, which I will replace. From looking at the parts manual picture, I can see both hoses connect to the vents, but where do the other sides of the hose connect too? Do they just in the engine compartment?

Is this safe to go out with the hoses not connected? My wife and twin boys were planning on going out this weekend. Thanks in advance

They shouldn't be flopping around in there, but Yes - they simply pull air from the bottom of the bilge to clear fumes/vapor from the engine compartment. They are not attached to anything (other than to hold them in place.)

You're supposed to run the blower for a few minutes before starting and after shutting down (and after fueling up) to make sure there's nothing down there that might go 'Boom!' when you turn the ignition. It may not be an issue to run without the hoses, but is it worth the risk? Try to find a way to get those things attached. Couple of clamps and a few zip-ties ought to do the trick. It doesn't necessarily need to be pretty, it just needs to work.
