:smt038Hello! This is my first post and I am the operations manager of the new Sea Ray dealer in Vermont! We will be open for business towards the end of february, located in Chittenden county, and we have boats on order from the 175 sport bowrider to the 330 sundancer! Myself and the owner are both avid boaters and multiple Sea Ray owners who believe in the products we sell and we know how important service after the sale is to a customer. We look forward to serving the Lake Champlain and Vermont boating communities for years to come!

Welcome...I almost drove to Toledo, Oh a few months back to look at an '89 305DB.

God bless you and your business venture. Thank you.

Welcome, where is your business going to be located? Will you be at the (is there one this yr?) Boat show in Essex?

Thanks for the welcome everyone! We will be in the Malletts Bay area, and yes, we will have boats at the boat show in Essex in march! I actually have boats arriving next week, although we will not be open until mid to late this month. a 175 br(2), 185 br(2), 205 sport, 230 select and 260 sundeck. We will also have a 260 dancer and some 240 dancers and many others still in production. Please stop by and meet us at the boat show vtsearay! Oh yeah, the boat show in Essex at the Expo center is March 12,13 and 14. I'm glad that they moved the date.

I'll be there if I can! (You might want to put a notice in the Northeast forum too announcing your arrival!)

Could you supply the address in Vt as well. I travel to Burlington on occasion and would love to stop by.

I would love to disclose our exact location, but It is not completly set in stone yet, and I don't want to send anyone in the wrong direction. Sorry but I will let everyone know as soon as I can. It should only be a week or so(I hope)

Does your store have a service department and if so will they be participating in Club Sea Ray as well?

Absolutely. The foundation of our dealership will be based on service. I am not only the operations manager, but I am a service tech of many years and I hold certifications in numerous areas of boat repair. Let me know where I can help! Anything to help out a fellow boater!

I'm glad to see someone picked up the line around these parts. Is this a new line for an existing location or an entirely new operation? Good luck either way! See ya at the show. ...and thanks for spelling "Malletts" correctly.:smt001

Congrats and welcome. I cut my boating teeth on Malletts Bay in the very early 80s when I worked for IBM up there right out of college. Had no money, so sold my car to buy a 1977 16' closed bow aluminum Starcraft runabout with an 80hp Merc outboard. It was a blast.

For you locals, if I tow my Sport 175 up there this summer for a couple of weeks with my old buddies, will the Essex Ferry let me tow it on board? Trying to avoid the route off of I-87 from Lake George up through 22A.

SeaRayOfVT -

Not sure if you are aware of it, nor when their planning starts, but there's also a Burlington Waterfront Boat show in June or July too you might want to check into (if you haven't already).

Yeah, I'm not sure if they will or not. (I think they would, but best to call ( www.ferries.com for contact info) But, the ride up thru 22a isn't so bad. I took my 210 up thru there 2 yrs ago when I brought it home from the dealer.

We do plan on being at the boathouse boat show this summer. I think you will find that we will not be "behind the scenes" too much. As far as trailering your boat to Vermont by ferry, that is no problem. I have done that in the past when I used to bring my center console to Florida for the winter I used that route. One time, It was during a snow storm in december. When I got to new york, none of route 9 was plowed, with over a foot of snow, towing a boat(no fun) I was never so happy to see I-87!

We are a new operation. Nice donzi! and a 250 dancer, the best of both worlds!

Thanks! We have exchanged the Sundancer for a Silverton 31c last fall just in time to put it up for the winter. It has turned into a bit of a project and I don't even have a decent photo of it yet...

ZZ13 - You can trailer the boat on the ferry no problem. I always run 22A when I bring the Donzi to Lake George. Cut over on 17 to Crown Point and on to 9N. In case you don't know the Crown Point bridge is gone and there is a free ferry service in it's place.

See ya on the water!
Frank
