I find myself in the need of a new vehicle. I would like something 4WD or AWD that ultimately I could add a plow if need be. These last few years have kicked my butt with the snow removal on my inclined driveway. I have 3 small children and would need a 4 door pick-up if I go that route. I see that Chevy, Ford & Dodge have 0% financing incentives on the 2011 models. I would like to take advantage of this free money incentive!

Does anyone have anything pro or con to say on this subject? I'm probably leaning towards a Dodge Ram at this point due to their superior warranty package but I am open to suggestions. I like the SUV models as I currently have one but the future plow issue puts them behind the pick-up option. I also currently have a little pick-up that used to be my grandfathers that I use for Home Depot runs, etc. If I get a new p/u truck and can overcome my sentimental attachment to the old one I can get rid of 2 vehicles and replace them with one. Any help or input would be appreciated! Thanks!

I like the Chevy for confort and quiet ride. Very good if you are going to keep it for a long time, no rust.

The new F150 Ford is pretty nice and the fuel economy is good for a truck. Ford trucks are very reliable from my experience. I am currently test driving a Ford Edge Limited and it has everything! What a nice car and it's nice to be able to test drive for a week...

If you are inclined to look at the Ford offerings, do a few minutes research on the EcoBoost engine available in the F150. This is one tough, powerfull engine. Great for the occasional plow use, while providing good fuel economy during day to day use, ie... hauling the kids around.

I'll say it before anyone else does, new Fords aint cheap. If you must, Ask me how I know.

Thanks for the input so far guys. My father used to sell Fords so I've always had a soft spot for them. I see the prices of all of these trucks are pretty high. They start low and then just add one thing and whammo! I have just started looking but, I know the 0% deals will not last long. I am going to check out some Fords tomorrow. One guy that used to work for me & my brother is a Ford salesman so I will see what he's got. I spoke with him today and he is trying to put me in a Ford Fushion, AWD. He says forget the plow!! Supposedly this thing is at a great price discount with the financing because it is a 2011 left over. I don't know anything about them and am still thinking truck at this point.

I've owned Dodge and Chevy but have purchased Ford F150 supercrews the last three times. Each one is better than the last. I'm a huge fan of the new V6 ecoboost engine but only the 6.2L came with the 2011 Limited edition I ended up buying. The EB delivers similar performance with superior gas mileage to the 6.2.

Interiors and appointments are luxury car like. Quality of materials are first rate. I have a snugtop hard bedcover which adds great flexibility. I can lock valuables in the bed and remove the cover when I want to haul something big like a motorcycle in the back.

How long & wide is your driveway? Do you snow blow or shovel? I'm wondering what it is that kicks your butt. Do you have a lot of lawn? I ask that because maybe a 4WD lawn mower with a big snowblower on it will make you driveway clearing and grass cutting real easy. Then you eliminate the need for a truck that can handle a plow.

Todd, I just bought a Fusion. IMO, If you close your eyes & picture a Big Beefy F250 with a plow on it, Then mentally do a 180, you will see the Fusion. The Fusion, even the 4D SEL(mine), is a small, sporty car that is all about bells & whistles. Don't get me wrong, my wife loves it, just giving you a heads up.

Ford has always treated me right.

I travel a lot and I get to drive whatever I want so I have driven all the brands..... just to see how they stack up. In half ton trucks, Nissan and Toyota are crap. Chevy's are under powered and clumsy feeling. Dodge has a pretty good product, If I couldn't afford a Ford that's what I would drive.

3/4-1 ton.... Ford with a power stroke. if you need that much power the only choice is a ford, the others just don't measure up.

Its just my opinion, but at least I can say I have tried them all. And remember they were rentals so I tried them hard.

Finance 0% ?? you luck B............'s .
Toyota had a special here of 2.9% on 2 models only. from memory the Yaris and the Corrolla !

I bought my wife's car last December with a 0% special. Take FULL advantage of the offer. I went in to the dealer with a pen and my good credit. I came out with a vehicle and a payment booklet. I left my check book at home. When they asked me how much I wanted to put down, I said "either you don't understand 0% or you think I don't understnad 0%".....

I own a Chevy Avalanche & love it - Don't expect great MPG but this thing does everything I want it to do & then some, Great looking, Lots of room & hauls the boat fine. - Just throwing it out there.

If I were looking at new (which I never do) I would seriously consider the Ford Supercrew with the EcoBoost.

They're all crap...find one that is pretty

sincerely,
the car guy

Todd I'm out of the loop on the new stuff but good luck and as others have said take advantage of the 0%... has me thinking now... great...:smt100

Todd- I was in the same boat, I’ve had a pickup with a plow before but like the job a snow blower does better, so when I got a new F150 Lariat 4 door with 0% financing, instead of getting a plow I bought one of these, Toro Power Max® 828 OXE, does a great job and easy to move around.

My wife needed a new car, I liked the Ford Edge, but she liked the Chevy Equinox better so we just bought her one.

Closely Examine all options before taking a 0% financing deal. Sometimes it is 0% financing -or- a several thousand dollar rebate off the the sale price. With auto loans as low as they are right now you can probably get a better deal taking the cash back, if it is offered and financing through a Credit Union.

When we purchased my wife's Tahoe last year, we came up much better off by a couple thousand dollars taking the cash and getting a 1.9% loan from the Credit Union.

Did the same thing a few years back with SUV... I NEVER buy new cars, I hate losing 15-20% in value as soon as I sign the papers. But back when the recession was at its worst, I got 8K off sticker for my Land Rover, 0% financing, and 3 years of free scheduled maintenance. I couldn't pass that up.

As to the question at hand, I'm more fond of the Chevy Silverado, and my brother had a Dodge PU (forget the exact model) for work and hated it.

Good point, when I bought mine it was a left over, they offered all rebate plus 0%, in the end after the rebates and going back and forth it was around 6k off the sticker and 0%
