Hello Club Sea Ray :)

We are iBoat Skipper Doug and Mate Annette, a 50+ year old couple in Norhtern Wisconsin.

Our new to us boat

We purchased a 2003 Sea Ray 225 Weekender last week Friday. I ordered a new tandem axel aluminum trailer yesterday. Our intention is to trailer boat, not slip, as our kids, grandkids, and family have spread out. Most of our trailering will occur 20-100 miles from our home in the Northern Wisconsin USA area.

The boat needs some maintenance that the previous owner differed, and we are on it. Once thats done, I have a couple of electronic additions I intend to make. My short term goal is to do some boating this fall, get the additions completed over winter, then hit the water early spring. To help with the short Wisconsin summer, cold fall and spring, this boat has the bimini + camper top and side curtains.

The boat addition / modification I’m most excited about is adding a flush mount GPS. Of course the 225 Weekender has no open area on the dash for a GPS and I prefer the clean, professional look that can only come from cutting a hole in the dash. My intention is to relocate the start switch, remote radio control and depth gauge to smaller but available areas at the helm then use the vacated area to the left of the steering wheel for the GPS. Other then pulling the Bravo III drive for a new seal kit, alignment check, and lubrication, I intend to do all routine maintance, care, winterization, some minor fiberglass repair, and the electronic additions.

My other hobby
I’m also a hobby YouTube content creator a.k.a. YouTuber, droner (DJI Mavic Pro) and I intend to create videos about our experiences with the boat, from learning to maintenance and care to planning then going on boating adventures. I’ll even share when I mess-up.

Here is a video I made about a vacation we took last year, offered to get to know us. The video is not boating related, but stay tuned and I’ll make some.
