Nice! Where at on LSC? I may know the previous owner
MacRay from a one owner
If it’s the boat I’m thinking then it was def taken cared for.
Congrats on your new boat, where will you be staying in Grand Haven?
On the South side of the river for now
Congrats on the new 340! That is a heck of a first run and a great way to get to know your new boat.
Congrats. The 340 is a great boat.
We are at North Shore Marina, some friends of ours just made that run with a 510 Sundancer.
We made the trip the first week of October and the picture is at Mackinac island. We were the only people at the marina. There was one other boat but no one around. We made the trip with the freighters. We had rain, fog, and darkness. It was probably a once in a life time trip. We loved it.
Nice trip! That's a bold run in October. You must have had some kind of great weather window. Very nice.
Here's to hoping for some lower water levels for 2021! Looking forward to us all getting back into the water...
I have the same boat and you will love it ! I’ve had many boats smaller and much larger I find this a perfect size for our uses ! Spring & Summer is around the corner! Cheers
Well thanks for saying so. The boat is in very good shape but I have a hundred things I want to do to it. For one we want new cockpit carpet. We are trying to decide if we want original Sea Ray carpet or a charcoal and grey teak look carpet.
Meanwhile my wife and I are waiting for spring here in Michigan
Have you visited snapincarpet.com? Winter is the perfect time to buy all of their sample materials to see what you like/don't like. They've also already got the template for your boat. Makes shopping very easy...and made right here in Michigan...
They are going to send me samples right away. We used them on our 260 Sundancer but I did not remember thy were in Michigan
Congrats on your new purchase.
We bought ours over there as well, and made the run to GH. Our trip was in August 2015. Talk about an awesome sea trial!
We've had our '02 340DA for several years now, perfect for us for where we're at now, maybe not in retirement later. We replaced our carpets with Infinity luxury woven vinyl, still snap in so we can remove when desired. Very comfortable, and I love that they just rinse off and dry quickly because they don't absorb water like the OEM carpeting did.
What is going to change in retirement? I am almost 60. Do you think you will go bigger or smaller?
In retirement we're going to be doing more extended cruising, rather than long weekends that are more common in the summer right now. We'll want something a little bigger, but also something with better endurance, maybe even a displacement hull like a trawler, which will also handle less than ideal sea conditions better.
Don't get me wrong, we love our boat. The 340DA is a great express cruiser, and we love our summer weekends aboard. When we have taken longer trips, however, it always feels like we're looking for a place to take on fuel, water, and pump out. The big 8.1L gas engines are thirsty, (although they do get you where you're going at a good pace) and the water and holding tank capacities are really for a weekend, not extended travel.
