Hello all.
My name is Will. I have just purchased my first sea ray. She is a 1985 Sundancer 260 with a Mercruiser 5.7L. She runs great and looks fabulous.
This is the first sea ray I have owned, and also the first mercruiser system.
Before this boat I was a devout Penta guy. (I still have my Uniflite running twin Penta engines)
Well, my step dad got me interested in the Sea Rays. He has a 30+ foot Sundancer and a 22ft weekender.
So far I am impressed.
Never having worked on a Merc drive or engine, I have some questions that I will post in the appropriate places for all you seasoned sea ray folks. I prefer to do all my engine and drive work myself. I can tear a penta drive down and re gear it no problem, so hopefully these mercruisers are as user friendly.
