My name is Jason, 26 years old, and I have loved Sea Rays since I can remember. I just bought my first Sea Ray. It's a beautiful 1988 Sorrento S-24. The boat is in excellent condition for its age with only 460 hours on the original engine. I took it out for the first time last week and discovered that it needs a new gimbal bearing, resulting in a tow. I only got a couple of minuets to get it up on plane and noticed that it lists to the passenger side pretty heavy. I can only assume that I need to play with my trim tabs. Anybody out there have the same problem and a solution, please let me know. thanks

Welcome to the board - sounds like you have a project on your hands. I would have the bellowes looked at/replaced as well as the impeller in the outdrive and the little plastic tubes that can melt. I always do that with a new boat. About the list, you prob. need a little more time in the water to see how it really runs, more than likely just load distribution or a tab was a little off.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new boat! You have come to the right place for your project if you are a DIY guy. There is some serious hands on experience on here and some great folks!
