Hello everyone. My name is Mark. I have been into boating since building my first boat at age 14. It was a small outboard hydro w/tiller steering. I had some help only with planning and advice from a much older friend named Harry Benne. He was a retired outboard tech school teacher running a mom and pop resort at the Lake of the Ozarks in MO. I would go to the lake every chance I could just to hang out with him and learn how to fix things not just replacing parts with new ones. He could fix anything. I miss him badly. My parents now 70 and 72 years old live at the lake all year round. I bought the new boat in hopes of getting more of the grandkids interested in boating and seeing grandma and grandpa more often. They were getting bored with my parents 20 mph pontoon boat and my 1967 16 foot runabout was getting too small for the lake. I have been a small engine mechanic for 30 years but I'm new to the I/O scene. I have never owned a boat bigger than a 16 footer until this year. I already love my new boat. My son Matt 14 also loves boating and will be helping me with all of the repairs. He will also be helping me burn some gas next season. Thank you and I am looking forward to learning about I/Os and bigger boats on CSR.
