New to boats and forum 2001 185 searay

Whats up everyone, new here and just thought that Id be polite and introduce myself before I start hound ing with all the questions.

About to purchase 2001 searay 185 4.3, little rough on the looks but I took a test ride checked out the normal stuff and the current owner is very helpful with all my questions and added about 1k worth of extra stuff i.e.
poles ,wakeboards,radios, hoop nets ets.

Im from San Diego and I do all sorts of outdoors things from kayaking ,running , fishing etc.
If your from SD make sure to touch bases.

Welcome. A little rough on the looks? There are thousands of boats out there. Find an anal boat owner. I bought a 1991 that is in excellent condition. No rips or tears anywhere. The only thing wrong is the gel coat is faded.

Please get a survey, boat and engine. Surprises are not fun. It is well worth the $500 or more.

Im getting the boat for 3400. Rough as in the interior is a little messy from guts blood etc (lots of hoop netting /fishing) theres a few scratches on the dash and what not.

Original owner lots of paperwork but the boat does have 970 hours on it... I was a little sketchy on it but all the boats Ive looked at around here the owners have had them a few months and dont really know squat about the boat and dont wan to test drive. This owner spent an hour with me going through numerous things, and gave me his mechanics number. Ill see what happens, Im stoked though and look forward to learning all I can.
