Just closed on my "new to me" 05 300 today - the family needed a little more room (for us and all our stuff). We are in the process of setting up our cruising plans for 08 (never too early) - we will spend the Memorial & Labor day weekends in Newport (Newport Harbor Hotel), The 4th on Block (Champlin's?), a week in Mystic and an overnight or two (or three) at Nappatree beach - any other suggestions - We will be taking delivery at Pilots Point Marina in Westbrook CT and will have the opportunity to slip the boat there until Memorial weekend (when we head to Newport) and then to our home port - How far can I venture up the CT river - Whats worth seeing there - Essex? Deep River? - I've never posted on any type of forum before - I've been lurking for a while and figued it was time to chime in - I hope I'm doing this right.

Welcome aboard, Thanks for putting your info in the sig section.

Congratulations on your purchase. Might as well be new as an '05. I hope the 280 served you well. You should post on the Northeast forum. It's been very lonely down there. You might capture more northast boaters in that forum.

Congratulations on the new boat! Sounds like a good plan so far. You can come all the way up to Hartford. Just don't go past the last bridge with the arches. Very shallow and you can get in trouble in a hurry. Not much to see past that point and a ride from Long Island Sound to Hartford is about a 2.5 hour trip. Check out Hamburg Cove near Essex. Nice place to drop anchor.

Welcome and enjoy the 300! There are a few of them here, post away if you have any questions.
