new tender

Let us know what it rides like...looks great.

Yes, looks very good and perfect size it appears. is that your center console behind your big boat in the pic? if so, looks sharp...

The new tender couldn't be any longer than it is. With the motor, it is almost as wide as the Odyssey.

The CC in the picture in my friends next door.

Here are a couple better pictures taken today when the light is good, the other pic was late in the afternoon. You can see my old RIB in the second pic, rotting away. I put it on CL to see if anyone wanted a "project tender".

If I may highjack a bit...has anyone used or owned the ab lammina 9 or 9.5? I'd like to hear any performance stories you may have with this size dinghy with a 9.9 to 15hp motor. Also 2 stroke vs 4 stroke. I'd prefer a 2 stroke but I currently have a 9.9 merc 4 stroke and I'm wondering how well it will push the lammina 9. I'm really trying to get the best setup I can without going over 200 lbs. Would really like to be able to plane with 4 people as well. Am I dreaming?

The AB aluminum hulls are fantastic. You will run into issues planing 4 people purely due to motor. You should get the ab first - and try it with your 9.9 4stroke. If you don't like the performance, then bump to a bigger motor. You'll want as much boat as possible, so try the 9.5. Your 330 should have plenty of beam to support it.

I have an AB 9VL, which is the fiberglass hull version, its 9'6". We run an 8 HP 2 stroke which will plane with 2 adults no problem. When i bought the tender i had 15 HP 2 stroke and this motor was way to powerful for this hull, almost dangerous. So i recommend a 8 HP 2 stroker. Your 9.9 will do fine on this hull. My buddy has the same set up and he can keep up with my 8 HP. Yes i know that is silly but the 2 stroke has more push than the 9.9 4 stroke.

I wish my 9.9 was a 2 stroke. I was originally looking at the lammina 9.5 but with a 15hp motor, I'm getting a little heavier than I care to wrestle onto the boat at the end of the day. I was afraid that 4 people would be too much for the 9.9. Darn!

To be honest, 4 people in a 9-10 foot rib with a 15 HP will stuggle too. And if you do it wont be comfortable to control. I reserved the fact that our 9.5 dink is to putt around, Ship to Shore/Port and occasionally take one of the kids for a fast ride on plane. You really need a 12-13 foot hull to run 4 adults. But then we are talking 450 lbs. Keep it light and simple if you dont have a Hydraulic lift.

It's still a ship to shore application. I just want to go a little faster than the 3 mph I was getting out of the last setup. For 5-10 min, it can be a little crowded. Adds to the excitement.
