New Swim Platform

Just to chime in here and agree with the support and finish of the Swimplatform.com product...
I put one on my 270... it was like adding another room to the boat!

I wish I would've taken pictures of the install... but we were too busy getting the thing put on. I did similar to Quint4... a manufactured table and floor jacks. Some of the bolts were very difficult to get to on the 270... we had to cut the end off of a combination wrench and weld on an extension. Also a word of caution... with some of the bolts, the sealant I used would get on the threads when we poked them through the holes and lock up the nuts before we could get them all the way tight. We had to cut a couple of them off and start over. So if you avoid getting the sealant on threads you will be better off.

A picture of mine on their first Rave page, about 10 from the bottom:

And on the original ladder... I removed it and filled in the holes. Ended up selling it to another 270 owner that tweaked his while backing into the slip.

"I'm borrowing 2 of these so I can adjust either side as needed."

Havana......I think that lift is the best idea I've heard yet and should be worth its weight in gold for you come install time.

I'm going to go to a local rental place here and look for two of them when my time comes.

Great idea.

I added their easy up swim handles on our latest boat.....the wife loves them. They lock into a recessed deck fitting.

I just finished my install over the weekend. It took two days but I did it by myself with the help of a hand-crank fork lift.... this really is a two man job. I did have to relocate my stern eyes one inch down but otherwise everything fit as it should. This is truly a very well made product and I cannot wait to try it out this summer.

I tried attaching a pic and it wouldn't work... I don't know what's going on; I've done it before no problem. I'll try again from my home computer and see what happens.

EDIT: It says I've exceeded my quota, but I think I have plenty left. I don't know if it's a glitch or what. I'll attach from another source.

I have been a silver sponsor for years and my profile said so until yesterday. I've never received notice to renew but think it may be time to do so again (?)

EDIT: I just noticed that I have lost access to the Club Level forum.... I think that's confirmation that it must be time to renew.

I run into that year after year too. I never get any reminder either. No perks like that for platinum either, so I downgraded to gold. Do I see silver on the horizon?? C'est la vie!!

So.....here we are STILL waiting for mother nature to cooperate so I can get at my boat and this new platform sitting in my garage. One of the joys of living "north of the border".

While waiting....lots of thinking going on and formulating the plan for "game day".

For anyone here who has removed their original platform to install a new one (or anyone else with a good idea)......what did you use to fill the holes in your transom from the original mounting bolts/screws before drilling the new holes for the new platform?

Did you simply fill them with something like 5200? Or.....??????

I would use six ten thickened epoxy from w/m 23 bucks

thanks I'll keep that in mind.

I was thinking about filling the holes with whatever....then perhaps also inserting a small plastic plug of some sort stuck on and sealed with the 5200. Maybe overkill but.....rather have more than I need than not enough.

View attachment 34888View attachment 34889Got to un crating our platform today. Man this thing is big! Took 4 of us to move it and get out of the crate. All in all it shouldn't be a very difficult install. I'm not going to use the hydraulic lifts they're just not necessary its not as heavy as I originally thought.
Heres a few shots of just how large it is .
