I figured this would be useful to anyone who wants an easy drop in replacement for a Sea Ray around the age of mine with similar stock equipment (I have a 2002 240 SD). I'm not quite ready to drill holes in my boat (yet ) so I wanted something easy that would sound better. I also had the challenge of finding a remote that could replace the stock remote without having to replace the lower dashboard. My stock system was a Clarion XMD2 with a M201 RCS remote paired with Clarion 1602 Dual Cone Speakers.
I replaced this with:
Head Unit - JVC KD-X33MBS
Remote - JVC RM-RK62M
Speakers - Polk DB651
The remote is almost a perfect fit, but it's just a tiny bit too large. However I found an easy solution - I was able to get it to flush mount just about perfectly by using an electrical gasket from Lowes (This one -> https://www.amazon.com/Sigma-Electric-14004-External-holder/dp/B00AOA87TW )
The speakers fit perfectly into the existing screwholes.
While this isn't as nice as having a subwoofer (that's probably coming at some point ) and a separate amplifier it sounds quite good and MUCH better than the stock system. It's a very easy upgrade that required no drilling or cutting of fiberglass.
