New Sea Ray owner, Mystic CT

I tried taking some photos of the boat but she is packed into the warehouse so tightly surrounded by other boats I could not get any good over all photos.

I did however; take a photo of our draft version of her vesselidentification. Since she is going to beUSCG documented they require the letters to be a minimum of 4”. There isn’t that must room on the stern.

So this is what I have come up with as attempt number 1. The font for her name will remain as shown; thefont for the home port is for reference only. They are shown at the required 4”height.

Any thought?? As you can see it’s tapped over her present nameand home port.

I dont think the home port letters need to be that big. They certainly arent I mine and I'm CG documented as well.

Would you have more room if you moved the name down to where the port is? Doesn't look like you have to worry about the hinges & latches interfering down there.

I actually have considered moving the name below the home port;it would allow the name to be seen when the camper canvas is on and allow for moreroom as you stated. The admiral isn’t crazyabout reversing it and I am not sure if there is a regulation that it needs to beunder the vessel’s name. Does anybody knowif there is such a regulation?

May I ask how large your letters are?

Thanks for you input!

Anyway of moving the home port to the front edge of your swimplatform? And put the name where you have the homeport now? I think if you shrink the homeport font to fit the platform no one would really bother you . Me personally would like to see a little more finesse on the name font, (just me) nice boat.

Great idea! I can't wait to go to the dealer next weeknd and meassure the platform to see how much room there is. Is there anybody out there that has a 2011-13 DA 310 that can get that for me sooner that woul be great. Thanks for the suggestion.

Dealer checked with USCG, can't seperate the name from port. Back to square one....

Port has to be 4" minium height. Have you measured the height of the transom below the "rumble seat"? You can make the port 4" high with thin lettering, and see what room you have to place the name of the boat. You can be creative with the name and using upper and lower case as you did may be able to go around the canvas bungee holders.

Don't forget you will need to have an Number board 3" high affixed PERMENANTLY to the hull. best is inside the ER. on a stringer or someplace flat.

Here is the latest layout; I think this will be close to the final design. The home port is 4” is height and narrower then the first photo. Thelower case letters in the vessel’s name are a bit larger then 4”. I have a working layout decreasing their height and I hope to print it and tape it to the boat tomorrow or Thursday (f the weatheris as bad as they clam it maybe). If it works I’ll then turn it over to the professionals’ and let them clean it up.

The vessel name will be as dark as home port in the final product. I can only do so much with the tools I have to print the mark ups.

I liked it better in your first photo, staggered put "island" in the upper left hand corner and "dancer" as far down and right . Man your port font looks huge in these photos.

ok last one, this layout goes to the sign shop on Saturday so they can work their magic. Homeport is 3-3/4" as is the lower case of the vessel name.

Now all I need is summer to begin!

One more week until delivery and launch!!! Here is the finished name and homeport:

This week will drag!!!!

Island Dancer was launched on Thursday (the photo is of me bringing her around to her new home with the delivery mechanic on board) it was chilly with 15 knt winds. On Friday, along with the dealer, we took her out for a shake down cruise; it wasn’t long before the fogged rolled in and we returned to the dock with winds gusting to 20 -30 knts

We spent the long weekend living on board (Thu-Sun) and it may have hit a high of 50 degrees and the wind still hasn’t settled down. Hopefully we can take her on longer ride next week with no fog or gusty wind.

The generator is not working, starts then shuts off. The dealer is sending a generator expert to get it up and running. The only other issue is with the Vessel View, it beeps a non critical error that the compass is not installed correctly. Without it working skyhook and several other functions will not operate. The dealer along with Mercruiser are looking into a fix and hopefully will be corrected quickly, may just need software reset. As everyone knows having the alarm going off is not what you want to hear on your first run.

After only one weekend using the electric grill I could never buy another boat without it. We had scallops, grilled vegetables, steak and chicken kabobs. With the temperatures dropping at night intothe 40’s cooking outside on a propane grill would not have been as enjoyable.

One thing I learned the hard way, Axius is no match for 20-30 knt wind guests. With the joystick in full reverse it was no match, the boat would not respond and had to be docked the old fashion way with the throttle levers.

But the worst thing that happened was having to leave to return home for another week at work.
