New Sea Ray missing factory options??

Im in the final stages of signing on a 2017 290 SDX OB... The build sheet on the boat lists "Premium Stereo Upgrade" which is supposed to be comprised of an extra 2 speakers and a subwoofer, totaling 6 speakers + the woofer.... This boat definitely does NOT have the extra 2 speakers but I'm pretty sure its got a subwoofer listening to the quality of the stereo. The subwoofer is hidden somewhere on the premium speaker package but I didn't go digging for it, I just know the system had a lot of bass to be coming from the 4 exposed 6.5" speakers.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this from sea ray? Im confused as to how a boat could have an option on the build sheet that is clearly not installed (or possibly partially installed for that matter)?

Sometimes the options do change during a production run, but leaving out some speakers….no. Ask your dealer to get to the bottom of this. That is their job, including installing the added speakers if they were on the build sheet.

Do not do anything more than give the dealer a refundable deposit until the boat is complete and you check it out. Some how dealers always tend to put a low priority on the "We Owe You" stuff if they have gotten full payment for the boat.

Every once in a great while we'll see some option missed when we get a new boat in. Just talk it over with your dealer - I'm sure they'll make good on it. Installing two speakers and running the wires is pretty straight forward thing and I'm sure it will end up looking factory when it's done. When you were looking over the boat, what did the dealer rep say about it?

The marinemax rep in Warwick, RI had no clue regarding specifics on the boat. I’m dealing with a Boston dealer but they’re pulling the boat from the Warwick inventory. He said to get a list of questions I had and he would find out the answers.

I kind of got the vibe that because my salesman was in Boston and I wasn’t dealing with one out of his office he couldn’t have cared less about me.

Think I found the problem.... Looks like its an early production 2017. I believe the 2016 and early 2017 only had a 4 speaker + Subwoofer upgraded stereo. I think the 6 speaker + subwoofer didn't come till later this year.

Then make you offer contingent upon the dealership installing the speakers, etc. or, reduce your offer because of their selling you a "stripped down" boat.
