New radio problem!

My boat has a Sony CDX-M20. The radio has power because the display on it is working. I cannot get it to turn on and play the radio. When I press buttons, it does absolutely nothing.

Any ideas?
 
If the boat has wire remotes, disconnect them from the back of the head unit. While there, just double check that you also have battery+ on the red turn-on/switch circuit. If you have a wireless remote, pull its battery. A glitched remote will lock up a head unit. After that, id pull the power harness and let the unit sit for about 10 minutes.
 
Make sure the amps have power on too. I had a new Fusion head unit installed, but the amps were on a different breaker than the "stereo" breaker, and so I had power at the stereo, but no sound, because the amps weren't powered up, they were on an accessory breaker.

That was it...I pulled the battery from the remote and the radio now works! Thank you for the help!
 
I began having problems again last year, and now, it isn't working at all..doesn't matter if the remote has a battery or not. The head still has power and shows the time, but will do nothing else.

Time for a new radio!
