Got a new problem..put my battery back in my 2009 Sea Ray 175 Sport. It's all charged up showing 12.7
Well I went to start the boat and nothing!! Checked the horn and stereo and nothing. Checked the connections..negative to negative..positive to positive along with 2 wires to positive nut..negative was last connection..checked the run/stop and made sure it is on run..NOTHNG
Any ideas guys ??

Thanks,
Greg

Third on that. Or is the boat in gear?

Greg, I am not sure if this would take out everything. But there is a 50amp breaker on top center of the engine. See if that popped.

Thanks guys but don't believe there is a battery switch..nothing visible anyway and I did not touch it if there was one. Also I had checked stereo/horn before removing the battery and they worked.
Bill I will check that fuse!!
btw..I did find a red toggle switch taped under the steering column..no idea what that is for

Thanks again guys/Bill

Greg

Checked it Bill, pushed the red button and yellow leg popped out so guess that's not it. Disconnected the negative battery post and then reconnected it. Heard something buzzing inside engine compartment..went to try horn and stereo..still nothing again (key in ignition)

Darn it. Ok. I am reading my manual. There is a 90 amp fuse where the red battery cable bolts to the starter. That protects the engine wiring harness. It says there may be a 20 amp fuse at the ignition switch. It says to check for it to be blown if the ignition key does nothing. There is also a 15 amp fuse at the rear of the engine to protect the accessory circuits. And a 20 amp fuse on the top of the engine to protect the TKS circuits.

That's all I got. I suspect you have this manual and know about all this already.

is the black so called battery cable actually a big battery cable and not the small black cable for the trim

Hi again guys,

I have been pulling what little hair I have out, trying to figure this out..just wanted to add the trim will go down..not up...WEIRD???

Does it go up if you push the button real hard to get to the trailer mode?

can you locate the slave solenoid? short the 2 large lugs and the starter motor should spin if you have the battery cables hooked up.large lugs will have a yellow/red stripe and Red with purple stripe.
If the starter does not spin your battery, cable connections are bad, the cable is bad, or the cable from the engine ground is not connected.

Ok. Either your drive was already raised higher than the trim limit or your trim limit switch/wiring is bad. Trim limits go bad all the time. Lower the drive all the way as far down as it will go. Then push the trim switch and see if it goes up for a little while and stops. If it doesn't and you have to push it hard all the way down to get the drive to move, then the limit switch is bad.

Greg, I just went through my boat and my wiring diagram. There is a second 50amp breaker that feeds the DC distribution panel at the helm. On my boat its mounted to the inside of the hull right next to the battery. The 15amp fuse for the stereo memory is mounted right next to it. $10 says you pressed its red test button without knowing it while you were working with your battery. Give that a try.
